25.01.2022 Today as I set off on my morning walk with just myself and the dogs (and the sun gently rising - see it in the center of the pic) I felt gracious. I’m grateful for the way my life is and for those who are helping me mould myself into the person I am becoming. I’m grateful for each and every one of you who trust me with your NDIS plans - and for those who have entrusted me with your children’s plans I know that’s even a harder decision. I’m grateful for your recommendations... and word of mouth that is growing my business. Apart from the obvious fact that it’s growing my business - what’s more important is that I feel I’m doing lots of things right for you if so many of you are referring on to me. I’m grateful to have this amazing state forest not only at my back door step but it’s also my daily view from my office where I work for you all. On quiet wordless reflection on my forest walks I look up always trying to find the ever elusive koalas that I know are out there yet have never seen. 16.01.2022 My grandmothers favourite plant was the Orchid. Over my younger years I remember her lovingly caring for them and wondering in their flower. My eldest daughter gave me this Orchid for Mother’s Day not knowing the significance of how a much loved plant it was to her great grandmother. It was simply something @tianabananaa loved. 16.01.2022 This photo takes me back a few years but was shared to me today by a friend. This is my family on a super exciting evening. All of our girls were finalists in the small business awards. Tiana at the time ran two successful businesses and was working and studying! She was in the finals for her pet minding business. My twins Renee and Stacey has a soap making business and sold at local markets and were still in school at this time. Whilst they didn’t win in their categories that wasn’t the point! We could not have been prouder of them. We had tried to instill in them a confidence to try things, and a sense of entrepreneurship. And that the world doesn’t hand anyone anything in a platter. 15.01.2022 I really enjoy my morning walks with my dogs and my Neighbour and her doggie. There is one fence - one big dog - that comes out of nowhere and charges the fence at us every morning. Some days we go into stealth mode and get by without being noticed. But on Monday the gate was open. We stopped. We froze. We freaked. Then we ran (stealth like of course!). What did that force me to do - walk a different path. I don’t feel safe walking that street anymore. It’s changed i...t for me. Through no choice of my own. And I realized we are all in that situation. Through no choice of our own we have been given a different path to walk. No matter if the disability is yours, your child’s, your partners or your siblings. This is not a path we chose yet we have to walk it anyway. So I learnt very on that my path was different to what we had planned x 2! And always have tried to enjoy the road we walk on - to find the best in any situation. 02.01.2022 Many months ago now I started to walk my two dogs. Largely because my business had taken on a full time role (thank you) and I wanted to fit in some exercise before being at the desk most of the day. Pretty soon it became a habit. And dogs are smart! They know each morning at precisely the same time - I will take them for a walk. Haven’t missed a day - in all kinds of weather! Currently my husband and I are suffering acute Ross River Virus (RRV) which is debilitating at... times. My dogs don’t understand that! They know it’s walk time and so the politely remind me. So even on my bad days when the basics of life are currently hard, I put on my sneakers and take them for a walk. Today - 6 degrees !!! In many parts of Australia this is a long weekend and maybe we can all take time to start a new habit? If could simply be smiling and saying hello as you walk past someone! It could also be to take a daily walk, or read a book to your kids, or give your partner some quality time sitting together at the end of the day reflecting - (though this might give you RRV if you live in our part of the country and choose to do this outside like we do).
