25.01.2022 It has been such a rewarding and fun first few days of care so far We've dominated playgroup, we've taken home most of the sand from the school sandpit (in our pockets ) We've played outside, we've played inside. We've been quiet and peaceful and we've been crazy and in hysterics! We've collected produce to gift to parents and we've dressed up, A LOT! If the last 2 days are anything to go by then we are in for one heck of a 2019!

24.01.2022 Groovy like a drive in movie! Today we celebrated the first 3 years of our own Isabelle May. We watched Inside Out (drive-in style) made popcorn, jumped to our hearts content and sang our little ballerina happy birthday

20.01.2022 Have you ever heard the term 'open ended play' and thought Simply put, open ended play allows children to express themselves in play freely and creatively, not bound by preset limitations. There is no set outcome to the play, the only limit is their imaginations. What is my most valuable open ended resource you ask? This cardboard tube that came with a rug This tube has been a car race track, a pom pom dropper, a balance beam, a pirate telescope, a cricket bat, a sword and a horsey just to name a few. This tube proves that there's no need to spend big $$ or really any $$ on toys. Children will play and learn and sensationalise anything they have on hand

16.01.2022 And that is a wrap for Lawless Family Day Care. To say that I'm grateful to everyone for their support over the last few years, is an understatement. I have learned and grown so much and will look back on this time with nothing but fondness and pride. I'm going to leave this page active as a reminder of all I achieved in the time I operated but I will no longer be taking bookings. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart

12.01.2022 We couldn't let the school kids have all the fun at the Athletic Sports today. We tried our hand at shotput, egg and spoon races, discus and sack races! 1 here is doing a fantastic job with his makeshift sack, the other is just blatantly cheating

10.01.2022 P.L.A.YDOUGH! Fresh playdough at that Today we explored our senses and experimented with different mediums centered around rosemary, of which we have an overabundance! It was the perfect calming, outdoor (but undercover) rainy day activity.

09.01.2022 With a lot of strong personalities in the mix, sometimes the feeling of kindness or love or sharing can be over looked. Enter our kindness hearts. These beautiful felt cotton stuffed hearts were lovingly handmade by my very talented sister and 3 nieces When the children, or I, are feeling overwhelmed, unsure of our feelings or just want a cuddle, we choose a heart from the jar and hand it to one of our friends. It tells the recipient that we need a show of love or kindness, usually resulting in a cuddle and a smile. It can be the perfect way to say, I need you, without having to say a word

02.01.2022 And lastly the Sumatran Tigers were the highlight of the day! Sumatran Tigers are the smallest species of tiger but they can jump up to 10 metres even from sitting!! There are thought to be only around 300 of them left in the wild and evidence suggests the species could be at least 2 million years old I was in awe of these beautiful creatures And the children you ask? They were playing 'cake shop' with pebbles and dirt from around the tiger enclosure #playmatters #atleasttheyenjoyedthemselves

01.01.2022 We LVE games! What you see here is 4 little people (and 1 big one ) talking, laughing, sharing, one is dribbling, and learning. Uno is undoubtedly our go-to! Mr 6 would play over and over and over!! For him he is learning the importance of rules, how to share, counting sequences and the ultimate lesson, winning isn't everything For the little ones they're observing all of this plus expanding their knowledge of numbers, colours, counting and in this case, all of the 'Cars 3' characters Not all know the rules but they all know they are having fun and they all know that they Belong
