21.01.2022 On our third day of OT week, we worked with one of our participants to install some home modifications in their bathroom. We were joined by Josh (Monaro Screens) who provided expert advice on the installation. At Leading Health, we love supporting participants through the home modifications process. We work together to find solutions that enable them to access their home independently and safely. #ThisisOT #OTWeek2020

09.01.2022 Today we delve into the wonderful world of sensory processing with one of our NDIS participant's through our sensory checklist, and sensory exposure assessment. Sensory processing refers to the way our body interprets the messages that our senses receive from the world. Through our tailored assessments, we are able to explore and understand our participants' sensory processing patterns in fun and practical ways. Today we explored a range of sensory stimuli to gain an underst...anding of the sensory preferences that help our participant to engage with the world around them. Using different textures, such as playdough, coffee beans, dried pasta and rice, a variety of smells, like eucalyptus, lavender, and deodorant, and colourful beads moving through water, we were able to explore our participants tactile, olfactory and visual senses. #ThisisOT

07.01.2022 Today we had a wheelie good time exploring the different range of custom, power wheelchairs Quantum Rehab have available for our clients at Leef Independent Living Solutions in Fyshwick. Custom wheelchairs (both manual and electric) are far more than just a means of transport for their users. They also provide postural support and pressure management, which helps our clients to move around throughout the day in comfort and style. #ThisisOT #OTWeek2020
