23.01.2022 Primary had a great morning break with their PBL reward of cake/ sweet and extra playing time. Handball, tag, red rover crossover, touch, trucks in the sand and rebound net catching were all being played in the primary grounds. The students managed to go back to class exhausted and red faced......

20.01.2022 Primary Cross Country Our Primary Cross Country will be held on Friday 30th April at the Rec. Ground. It will begin at 1:00pm and will conclude in time for students to be picked up from school or catch the bus home. Students will have an early lunch at school, then will walk to the Rec Ground with their class teacher. All students in years 2-6 will participate in the Cross Country. Students in K and year 1 will participate in a non-competitive running event on the oval.... Parents and carers are welcome to attend to watch their child compete. Please ensure your child has plenty of water and a hat for the event. Sunscreen will be provided at school. If your child has asthma, please ensure they have their medication with them for the Cross Country event. Look forward to seeing you there.

19.01.2022 "Andy" Mr Monshing brought all his toys to school today. Woody, Jessie, Mr potato men, Slinky Pete the prospector, T-Rex. Bo Peep, Barbie and Ken loved being at school to play with all the little kids and not get left in the toy room!

15.01.2022 Congratulations on our 2 long distance swimmers, who swam their trials today that were put off at our carnival. Azaya swam 100m F/S, Back, Breast, Fly and 200m F/s and Lachlan swam 100 F/s 100m Back and 100m Breast. Long standing records were broken and will be announced at the Whole School assembly. Well done to our dedicated swimmers. Thank you to Eric, the pool manger for his organisation.

12.01.2022 Primary Friday sport afternoon had the students trying different sports and learning the skills required to play. T-ball, lacrosse and futsal (soccer) were the pick this week with the players acquiring the new knowledge to participate in the games.

12.01.2022 Kindergarten transition had their final day and were very exhausted by 3pm. They performed their songs to Kindergarten on stage, in group work they practised writing their name, used play dough, recognised numbers, used scissors cutting patterns and read stories. They loved the play equipment at break, and then had a quiet, cool afternoon in the Library with Year 5 reading Christmas books to them. Their "concert" will be uploaded on f/b tomorrow

10.01.2022 LCCS Staff profile. Each day we will be featuring one of our new staff members. Today we have Mrs Karen Forbes. Karen has had over 40 years of teaching in lots of rural, remote and metropolitan schools. In the last 2 years she has been at Tennant Creek school. Karen is here doing learning support with our students and looking forward to meeting all the students, staff and our local community. We welcome her to LCCS

07.01.2022 Congratulations to students on receiving class merit awards from Mr Johnston today at morning assemblies. These special awards usually are presented at whole school assemblies (which cannot take place at this time) so students can be recognised for their involvement and engagement in classroom activities.

06.01.2022 Yesterday and today, students in Year 11 Hospitality catered for the marquees at Tullibigeal Picnic Races. Students prepared a menu including: - Grazing Boxes (assorted cheeses, dips, biscuits, meat, sundried tomatoes, olives, carrot and celery sticks, pretzels and grapes) - Sweets boxes (assorted slices including caramel, jelly and apple sour cream, individual cheesecakes and chocolate mousse) - Savoury boxes (assorted hot food such as quiches, sausage rolls, pizza scrolls, ...along with some cold savoury dishes such as bruschetta and wontons with avocado salsa) - Sandwich/Wrap boxes - fruit platter boxes Students also prepared sandwiches for the Jockeys and Trainers. A HUGE THANKYOU to these students! This was not an easy task and they delivered the food on time to an excellent standard! These students also volunteered their Saturday morning to complete the catering! Thankyou to Tullibigeal Central School for allowing us to use your new school canteen!

06.01.2022 In October, show team students participated in the Rona Youth Sheep Expo, creating videos of them judging our school sheep and their handling skills. We had some very successful students, and I’d finally like to announce these with their prizes arriving in the mail today! Congratulations: Jade Smith-First runner up senior handler and top finalist Judge (Jade wins the opportunity to attend Melbourne Show and work with Sweetfield Corriedale Stud in 2021) Hydi Gleeson-First run...ner up intermediate judge Keira Mackinney-top finalist judge Alysha Morris- top finalist handler and top finalist judge Students received rosettes and some prizes including hats, halters and lead ropes. Thankyou Erin Douglas and the 2020 Rona Youth Expo team for getting all the feedback and prizes to us at Lake Cargelligo. I will endeavour to get your rosettes to each of you throughout these holidays. Miss Ireland.

05.01.2022 PBL Reward Cake and Lolly and Longer Recess A massive congratulations to all K-6 students who have earned their next PBL reward. This Thursday, 17th September 2020, all K-6 students will be rewarded with recess supplied by the school and longer playtime (10 minutes). There will be cake including gluten free cake and a lolly.

02.01.2022 We have now changed our communications app from Skookbag to Schoolstream. We encourage you to downlaod this to receive notifications of events, updates and the newsletter. It also has an absentee form which can easily be filled in and sent off if your child is absent from school. Please contact the school if you have any problems.
