21.01.2022 I've had many conversations with parents who wished they'd thought about readying their child WAAAAAY BEFORE they did. Readiness for school is a big learning for the whole family and it takes consistent practise (please know that this doesn't need to be time consuming or costly). This is what we do! 21.01.2022 Today was an average day full of teething and testing emotions but in the afternoon we were blessed with a beautiful rainbow and all of the wonder that comes with it! Questions like came bursting out, like: What is a rainbow? Is there a pot of gold at the end of it? Which colours can we see? Where does it start and finish? Why is it there but then it’s not? The wonder of a rainbow is a fantastic invitation for inquiry and conversation! ... Next time you see a beautiful rainbow take the opportunity to chat up a storm!

There are a range of developmentally appropriate pencil grasps that children use before they have built the strength and coordination needed in their hands and fingers for the well known tripod grasp. Getting in the know with these milestones not only alleviates any concerns you may have as a parent, it also allows your child to develop and refine their pencil hold as their motor skills become more capable.
