22.01.2022 How good is this?!!!!
20.01.2022 http://NOW UP AND RUNNING// We are very excited to let you all know that we now are doing all of our tutoring sessions online. This will enable us to continue working with our students, and still ensure the safety of students, their families and our teachers. With schools closed for an unknown amount of time, we feel it is important that we maintain regular learning and some sort of routine for our students. In these online sessions, students will continue to work 1:1... with their current tutors, receiving guidance, instruction and feedback as they go. We are also offering small group sessions over the holidays and into next term, so if you have a child in Prep-Year 10 and you would like help from a qualified teacher, then please get in touch. All of our sessions are personalised for each child and designed to support your child's learning at home. #onlinelearning #onlineutoring #distancelearning #distanceeducation #aussiemums #aussiehomeschool See more

17.01.2022 #BREAKING: NAPLAN exams will be cancelled this year due to widespread disruption to schools caused by the coronavirus. STORY: https://ab.co/3a4SKff. Each year s...tudents in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are tested on literacy and numeracy. This years exams were scheduled for May, but with high absenteeism, some private schools working remotely and public schools temporarily closing after infections, the test will no longer take place this year. The decision was made by consensus at today’s COAG Education Council meeting which includes commonwealth, state and territory ministers. The Ministers reiterated their support for the decision to keep schools open.
17.01.2022 A little ‘Friday Funny’
16.01.2022 My type of home schooling We went out for a family walk and Miss 5 asked if she could bring her clipboard, paper and a pencil. Of course!!! She wrote (or drew) things as she saw them and added an extra tick for the things she saw more than once. I helped her as she asked, but most of the words she wanted to try and write herself. Teaching our kids at home doesn't have to be about sitting at a table all day. Enquiry based learning and real-life experiences such as this a...re so valuable, especially because they are the sort of thing that we can't always do in the classroom :) I'd love to know what you have been getting up to with your kids at home? And remember, every family situation is different and with the current circumstances, there is no right or wrong xx Note: This pic was taken two weeks- prior to lock downs . . #aussiemums #learningathome #homeschoolaustralia #enquirybasedlearning #learntowrite
16.01.2022 My girls love painting and this was a great way to ‘mix things up’ We used some plastic sleeves and simply poured different colour paints in. Once that was done, we stuck the sleeves closed and stuck them on the window. Voila! A ‘messy’ yet mess-free, creative, painty activity. Perfect for a rainy day, or a quiet Sunday afternoon after a big day out Once the girls were finished with this activity, we cut the sleeves open and used the mixed paint to create some more cre...ations! They loved seeing the ways the colours had swirled and mixed together #simplesundays #mixingcolours #messyplay
16.01.2022 http://HOW ARE YOU IMPACTING THIS EXPERIENCE?// If you have a child who is about to start school, here are a few things I recommend... Chat about school- In the lead up to the first day of school, discuss some of the fun things your child may do, and the new people they will meet (children and grown ups). Let them know it’s ok to be a bit scared/nervous, but reassure them that you will be back after they have had a play and learnt some new things. Be positive and reassuring. Sm...ile about it Asking for help - Every child is different, and some are very shy, so it is difficult for them to talk to another grown up. When our children go to school, we want (and need) them to be able to ask for help from their teachers. You can help your child with this by talking to them about it, and practicing it! Get them to use their ‘big voice’ to say ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ at the shops. Discuss with your child why it’s important that they use a big voice, and be brave to ask for help/ask questions. We want them to know it’s ok to do so, and that their teacher is someone they can trust. Routine - One of the biggest changes when our little ones start school, is the five day a week routine. Many children go to Pre-school/Kindy/Daycare, but school is much more formal and getting your child used to routine will help them transition smoothly. You can do this by implementing some routines at home. Have a dinner/night time routine; Set the table, eat dinner, put their dishes in the kitchen, quiet play, have a bath, clean their teeth, toilet and in bed for a story. Also, having a good amount of sleep each night will impact their learning and behaviour immensely. Stay positive - Don't let your emotions or even your own experiences of school impact your attitudes or behaviour when sending your little one off to school. This is their experience and it won't necessarily be like yours. Allow them the opportunity to love school and learning, and be supportive and positive with this new adventure! @petitbookcorner #schoolreadiness #startingschool #mumofpreschoolers #kindymum #preschoolmum
15.01.2022 http://SCHOOL READINESS TIP// One of the best things you can do for your child in preparing them for school, is give them permission to become independent! Sometimes we make the mistake of ‘helping’ them just that bit too much, and in turn we hinder their ability to become independent, look after their own belongings, make decisions for themselves and even problem solve. This week, get your little one to wear their own bag when you drop them off and pick th...em up from preschool/daycare. Encourage them to put their bag on themselves and even ask them to check that they have everything at the start and at the end of the day Little steps like this help to build confidence and independence, as well as prepare your child ‘all round’ for school #schoolreadinesstip #schoolready #schoolreadiness #startingschoolsoon See more

14.01.2022 I've had these cute, little toilet roll houses saved on my phone for ages! They are from @our.mini.creations and I reckon they are the perfect activity for those of us looking for something fun and simple to do with our kids at home. . . 13.01.2022 Why does my brain seem to go 100 miles an hour as soon as I lay down at night?! But when my girls get home from school and Kindy at 3pm each day, I’m ready for bed On the flip side, it’s quite peaceful at this time of night and I get a lot of work done without any distractions And by work I mean... getting things ready for next year! Have you joined the waitlist?! If your child starts school in 2022, this is for you!... Our School Readiness waitlist is now open. If you’re interested in preparing your child for school, through fun, play-based, personalised groups, then send me a DM and I’ll give you a call to chat more. #realmum #tiredmum #realmumlife #busymum #schoolready #schoolreadiness #preparingforschool
10.01.2022 Thinking of our friends down south
09.01.2022 This happened today!!! My big girl is growing up and had her first day of ‘big school’ today! Thank you for those of you who sent through lovely messages. The drop off went smoothly and apart from being exhausted, she had a wonderful day, made some new friends and had lots of fun! . . If your little one started school today, I’d love to hear how it went. And if you’ve got one starting next week, best wishes xx
08.01.2022 Have you ever been caught out (or nearly caught out)? My girls are really into taking photos and videos... the other day I found a photo of my nostril!!!
08.01.2022 http://HMM?// So I didn’t grow up doing Halloween and it was actually never really a big thing when I was a child. Now however, it’s huge!!! . We are fairly strict with what our girls eat (within reason), so the thought of sending them out to see how many lollies etc that they can bring home doesn’t really excite me I know some people probably think I need to loosen up a little, but I’ve seen what sugar does to my kids (especially Miss 4) and I don’t want to go there if I don’t have to So... my question to you is, are you like me? And if so, what do you do to get around it or deal with this event (my girls are for sure going to want to be a part of it now that they are old enough to know what it is) #healthykids #healthyeating Gorgeous and inspo from @mygirlsmake
08.01.2022 I think I’ve shared this one before, but I really like it. Just a simple little tweak of what we say can make such a difference
07.01.2022 If you’ve got a blackboard at home, they are great for teaching your little one to write, and here’s why...
06.01.2022 The other morning my girls made some nice big, bright rainbows to stick up in the front windows. I explained to them that this was something that a lot of the kids who were not at school were doing. It represents love and kindness for others in this tough time, the appreciation we have for those who are still working (and giving up time with their own families), staying away from our friends so germs aren’t spread, and the knowledge that everything will be ok If you’ve got kids at home, I encourage you to do make your own rainbows and stick them up. It’s such a beautiful yet simple way to help lift our spirits and build connections within our communities. And don’t forget to tag me, I’d love to show my girls what your kids get up to #hoperainbows #hopeyoureokay #everythingwillbealright #everythingwillbeokay
