24.01.2022 Unreal weekend for the Lease A Race Car team at Wakefield Park - Lachlan Ward had a cracker weekend In the legend car, winning the weekend and being crowned the 2020 Legend Cars Australia National Champion! Cody McKay Motorsports showed his skill in a race car and finished 3rd in his first outing in a legend car on tar. Keen to have Cody back hopefully for future races! Ben Powell jumped in the excel and was a character as always, cannot find a happier guy in the pits. ...In the first enduro Ben and Lachlan went from 27th to 20th while down on power. Unfortunately the clutch decided to go home before we did and ben wasn’t able to finish the second enduro, but still came in smiling! - Massive thanks to team mechanic Morgan Motorsport for ensuring the cars are in tip top shape all weekend! Got into racing through go karts in Newcastle racing for 2 years in the tag restricted super heavy class with a group of heavy guys had a lot of fun. I have a love for cars since I remember bought & built an excel for 3 k raced in 5 events last year learning the ropes. This year have done 2 endurance events in the excel series & going to make debut in legend cars in august. Finished 1st in club championship in 2017 2nd in 2018 in tag restricted super heavy. 09.01.2022 Meet the drivers! Ben Goodridge Ben will be driving a legend car tomorrow at Wakefield Park, keen to see how he goes! How’d you get into racing? It started after getting getting a adrenaline voucher for a v8 drive at Sydney motorsport park. From there went in to do multiple more with them as I was hooked. Even got to drive at Bathurst with them which was an incredible experience. From there went on to try different experiences from radicals for formula ford which I spent... multiple days at and from there I thought this is something I could do myself. What are you looking forward too about the legend cars? I’m looking forward to trying a new type of car. The legends look like a cool little car and from what I’ve heard are a lot of fun to drive. The racing looks close and a whole lot of fun. Goals in motorsport you have or aim to achieve For me. I haven’t competed in any races of yet. I just want to get out there have a go and see where things lead from there. It’s something that I have wanted to pursue since the first drive it did. Stay tuned to see how Ben goes!

02.01.2022 Today we had karting champion and current Toyota 86 driver Bailey Sweeny Racing tackle Wakefield Park in the mighty #77 excel. It was Baileys first race in cars and he was fast straight out of the gate, in race 3 Bailey drove from 20th to 11th only completing 2 actual racing laps due to red flags, and also getting the second fastest lap of the race!
