24.01.2022 Lovely to meet with Algester local Ethan whose business Everything Bamboo recently received a COVID-19 Small Business Adaption Grant. I have been so fortunate to meet with so many Small Business owners lately who have told me the incredible ways they have used the grant to transform their business and adapt to the challenges of COVID-19. Thanks for the gorgeous bamboo office products, Ethan! I've already connected my new mouse to the computer #supportsmall #supportlocal #qldjobs

17.01.2022 COVID-19 Update

16.01.2022 More funding for growing local state schools! We are investing in the next generation and local tradies with $11 million for new classrooms, new fencing and upgraded facilities. It’s great to deliver this fantastic outcome for Calamvale Community College, Acacia Ridge State School and Algester State School.

15.01.2022 I'm always so inspired when visiting Calamvale Community College to hear about their passion for the environment and plans to keep Queensland beautiful Their enthusiasm and positive change in our community has been recognized and they are now a finalist for the wasteSMART award! It was great to catch up with the Calamvale Community College P&C Association today, thank you for your outstanding contribution to our environment!

15.01.2022 Yesterday Peter Russo MP - Toohey and I joined many from across the community at the combined rededication service for Australians of Chinese Heritage and Australians of Indian Heritage War Memorials at Sunnybank RSL. It was an absolute honour to hear the stories of mateship, resilience and what it truly means to live your values.

14.01.2022 How very sad! It’s 2020, we’ve just seen the 57th Parliament sworn in with three First Nations people taking seats in the Queensland Parliament and the LNP’s spokesperson for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander partnerships decides to use his first speech in this role to explain to Indigenous people what their lived history is. At a time when the Palaszczuk Labor government has made clear our commitment to a path to treaty in this state, it’s obvious that the LNP have a lo...t of catching up to do. What are your thoughts? 13.01.2022 There are not many Parliaments in this country where you would see First Nations MPs participating in traditional song and dance at the official opening. Today as we witnessed the opening of Queensland’s 57th Parliament three First Nations MPs joined with our community to celebrate this important day. Taking part in the traditional smoking ceremony and dancing alongside my family and traditional owners left me with an overwhelming sense of pride and optimism as we look to t...he future and the task of treaty that lays ahead of us. Annastacia Palaszczuk MP Cynthia Lui MP - Member for Cook Lance McCallum MP Tribal Experiences

09.01.2022 Public transport is so important to our community. That's why there are more P546 buses getting you home faster and safer! You can also catch the P546 in the morning departing from 8.11am and 8.41am or in the evening departing from 6.07pm and 6.30pm.

06.01.2022 Wonderful women in white at Willawong! Fantastic to meet Incorporate Space, another small business success story! Terri-Ann and the team are a local business in Willawong providing beautifully designed custom workspaces. They are part of our economic recovery plan which supports local business, local manufacturing, and supports small! #supportsmall #supportlocal #qldjobs

05.01.2022 The creations from Antonio, Mike and the team are certainly 'i-catching'! The local design and fitout team at icatchers Archerfield have a long history in our community and now operate across Australia. But like many small businesses when COVID-19 hit, they needed a helping hand. The adaption grant meant that they were able to continue to create fantastic designs and continue as a leader in their industry. This is all part of our economic recovery plan to support small business.

04.01.2022 Today on Remembrance Day we stop to acknowledge all those who served and continue to serve our country in conflicts and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us all. This year with NAIDOC week occurring in the same week as Remembrance Day it’s also an opportunity to reflect on the many Indigenous men and women who have served this country. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. Lest we forget.

02.01.2022 Heading into the first parliamentary sitting surrounded by strong women! The Labor party has 21 women in the 57th Parliament, and 40% of our caucus members are women. I’m proud to be a part of a party that embraces diversity.

02.01.2022 Out and about in Pallara today feeling the positive vibes! #pinkforpositivity
