In usual times we would have enhanced their learning with special visitors and excursions to extend on their interests. We learnt some personal information about some of our wonderful educators too!

18.01.2022 Earlier this week Jo from AWCH WA - The Association for the Welfare of Children in Hospital Inc WA visited our centre to teach the children about medical equipment and aspects of going in to hospital. The program offers children the opportunity to have an informal hands on role play session using real equipment with teachers and educators close by. The aim of the program is to decrease the fear and anxiety that children may have about going to hospital. If you would like to know more out AWCH WA - Hospital Familiarisation Program visit www.awchwa.org.au

17.01.2022 Over the last few weeks our children have been learning about emergencies and how to respond when someone needs our help. A few children have also shown an interest in different emergency vehicles! Here are a few more photos of the children exploring inside the ambulance from last week. Thank you again to St John WA for coming out and educating our little ones!

16.01.2022 This year we set our teams a challenge, to use and make decorations for their rooms using recycled materials, handmade craft, nature inspired and collaborative art where possible. These example are only SOME! There was a lot of free expression art available for the children too. In the kindy room, the children took supplies home and created Christmas decorations with their families. They used empty nappy boxes and the children painted together to make their Christmas tree.... In the toddlers room they made many detailed decorations around their room and made use of our famous Honkey-nuts! A stick tree, a natural leaf reef, dough decorations and so much more using cardboard and recyclables. Our babies room used nature to transform their wooden tee-pee structure in their outdoor play area and the children decorated it together with recycled decorations and so much more, too much to list! Our office staff (ok Lauren and Pippa!) were very imaginative using egg cartons, and honey-nuts to create Santas sleigh, reindeers and Christmas tree. See more

07.01.2022 An interesting read about young childrens brain development. We are often hearing phrases such as School Readiness Pre Kindy Programs it seems that society now expects young children to constantly be in preparation for the next stage. We believe in children being children in the moment and having exposure to a wide range of opportunities holistically to expand their interests, curiosity and enjoyment.

06.01.2022 Better late than never... we had a wonderful time celebrating with end of year events in November and December. 03.01.2022 Today on Remembrance day we reflect and show gratitude for the sacrifices made from those who were involved in World War One. We appreciate our quality of life and the positive future ahead for all of us. Today the children were involved in making poppies, listening to age appropriate stories and paying respect with a minute silence. Our red poppy is a symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future. Poppies are worn as a show of support for the Armed Forces comm...unity. The poppy is a well-known and well-established symbol, one that carries a wealth of history and meaning with it Attached is also the famous poem; IN FLANDERS FIELDS written by Major John McCrae in 1915. John McCrae was a doctor, a soldier and a poet (For adult reading).

03.01.2022 One of our parents at our centre who is a music teacher recently created this hand-washing song with her son and daughter. The children have been singing it around the centre. Its catchy and we thought you might like to share it with your children at home. Thanks Amy! https://youtu.be/ZSPm6Ol6KEU

03.01.2022 Today our kindy children participated in a 000 Hero emergency program. Blade from St John Ambulance Education came to visit us and the children learnt how they can help in an emergency. 02.01.2022 We are wondering if anyone in our community has a Mulberry Tree? Or know the location of one? Our children are learning about the life cycle of silkworms and they eat through a lot of mulberry leaves!!! The Weeping Mulberry Tree doesn’t seem to have leaves at the moment... Thank you

01.01.2022 Dear Families and community, We have had a few conversations today with parents who are asking about school closures and if we will be closing too? We want to reassure you all, that NO we are not intending on closing unless we are instructed to by the department of health. Procedures are in place to help with social distancing and extra hygiene measures. We have been informed by our government that we are an "essential service" so at this stage we will continue to provide hi...gh quality education and care for families and children who require it. Everyday we read and learn about recommended guidelines and follow best practices for everyone's health, safety and wellbeing during this period of time. We also want to say a big thank you to our wonderful staff and families who have passed on positive comments and encouraging words that mean a lot to us all. Today we received this anonymous toilet roll cake that made us all smile!! Thank you for supporting us! Sherree & Tanya and LCCC Team!
