25.01.2022 This weekend as we celebrate many aspects of Australian society, its multiculturalism, history and traditions, we also acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Australians, particularly the Wangal Aborigines on whose land we work and play. To those who celebrate, Happy Lunar New Year and Happy Australia Day.
24.01.2022 Wishing all our beautiful mother’s a very Happy Mother’s Day. We hope you have a beautiful day with your loved ones. From all the team at Little Stars.
24.01.2022 When you can’t come to childcare, childcare will come to you. This is the first batch of resources we’re delivering to our families to provide some familiarity and routine for the children, support for the parents and maintain our connections.
22.01.2022 The Inventors are extremely excited to share the beginning of their loose parts play with in the program. Loose parts play involves using a wide selection of everyday objects and materials to create, build, invent, experiment and play with. Research has found that loose parts play has a significant number of benefits for our children including: developing their imagination, creativity, physical health, fine and gross motor skills, behaviour, cooperation, communication, teamwork and concentration. Although there may be times where these areas begin to look like the children are lost, messy and unstructured, rest assured that there will be a tremendous amount of learning involved, not to mention fun!
16.01.2022 The children at Little Stars were excited to see that they had a special visit from the Easter Bunny
16.01.2022 Today is Harmony Day, a day to recognise cultural diversity and inclusion. It also coincides with the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. At Little Stars we have children from almost 20 cultural backgrounds. During the week children experienced some traditions from other cultures. Incorporating traditions from other cultures provides a richer experience and fosters inclusiveness, acceptance and sense of belonging.
14.01.2022 We believe in providing opportunities through out our program for the children to get out into the community in which they are engaged in an environment that reflects and respects their interests and ideas, provides creative and open ended experiences, offers opportunities to work alone or alongside each other and promote a sense of authentic choice. The learning environment is one of the most important ways to personalise learning. It is informed by child development theory..., the intentional planning of the teacher and the current interests of the children. It promotes motivation, inspiration and belonging. The learning environment is child centred, rich in a range of materials, resources and opportunities in which children can engage. The attention to detail in the learning environment provides the richness of the learning and the overall engagement of the children. See more

11.01.2022 The educator took part in a training evening lead by Tash from Inspired EC enhancing our knowledge on the different personalities in children and the ways in which we manage ourselves when dealing with each individual. Every child is different and perfect...... Every personality has strengths and challenges
09.01.2022 To further extend on the children’s interest we invited the local fire brigade to visit our center and speak to us about fire safety. It was fabulous for the children to be able to see the fire fighters in their complete fire fighting suit (including mask) to know what first responders look like in an emergency and that although they may have all this different equipment on fire fighters are always there to help. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to see how fire fighters use the different equipment in which the children were given a chance to use the fire hose. Thank you to the wonderful selfless fire fighters for keeping us safe everyday.
09.01.2022 Friends connecting in a new way.
07.01.2022 Happy Easter to all our beautiful families Through the mist of this uncertainty, we have prepared an ‘Activity Pack’ for our families to take home filled with lots of fun activities which we hope will allow you to spend this long weekend connecting and sharing joy with your family. We miss you all and can not wait to see your smiling faces again on the other side of this pandemic.
06.01.2022 Vygotsky Believes..... - the child is viewed as an active seeker of knowledge. - the child and the environment interact together enabling cognitive development in a culturally adaptive way.
02.01.2022 Children express their feelings in many different ways, as educators we need to teach them that there are times we may not be okay, however there are ways to self regulate our emotions and the way we feel. #itsokaynottobeokay #selfregulationtools #childrensfeelingsmatter
