25.01.2022 Evening ladies and gents. Well as you know, we have closed the rabbitry and apart from our lovely Ginger Lily, will soon have no other buns in the yard. We will be selling off the last of our high-set triple hutches along with two ground enclosures soon, so if you are interested, please contact me on my personal FB page... Jay Bursle. It has been a pleasure. <3

21.01.2022 Putting a call out to all the Bunny Folk out there! Does anyone on here from the Albury Wodonga region have a small litter in the nest and a doe capable of taking on 4 mini kits? Or two does? I have a lovely lass that has come home to a bunny mum with a broken leg, and 4 kits under 14 days in the nest. Unfortunately this means the mum had to be put down, and now there are 4 kits to be hand reared if no surrogate can be found :/... Please get back to me asap, if you are able to help! See more
20.01.2022 Just got home from our second to last bunny show :( 5 buns safely delivered to their new (and in some cases old) owners :/ August 13th will be our last show, and it is going to be a sad day indeed, as I will be resigning as Secretary to NCRC and handing over the reins to the new incumbent at the AGM On a brighter note, only 8 buns remaining to rehomed, gorgeous every one of them (I may be a tad biased) ... I hope that people that have seen my rabbitry and know the buns that we produce will put up their hands for one of our well loved bunnies. 4 buns are ear marked for existing plush breeders, but if that doesn't turn out to be the case, they will still make excellent house bunnies. They are patiently waiting for their slaves to come and claim them :D
20.01.2022 Friend in Wang has just lost her doe, with three kits in the nest only a day old. Is there anyone out there with a doe that currently has less than week old kits in the nest that is willing to surrogate?

14.01.2022 Afternoon All I will have a little REW Dwarf Lop available from the 24th of November. Will be re-checking sex soon, but initial assessment at 4 weeks was it is a male. If you are interested in this gorgeous little man, please drop me a line. I will try to get a pic tomorrow :D... This little guy will be for pet home only, NOT breeding as he may carry the plush coat.

11.01.2022 Are you ready for the heat of an Aussie summer with Buns? Here are a few hints to make your life a bit less stressful, and will definitely go a long way towards alleviating the heat for your buns. 1. Prepare ice bottles (at least enough for 2, preferably 3, changes per day per bun) Milk bottles are too soft, coke bottles work better, the bigger they are, the longer the ice takes to melt. 2. Tiles work well to keep the buns cool especially if you have a frozen bottle on the ...tile. 3. Work out the coolest position for your hutch if you have outside buns. Make sure they are well out of the afternoon sun. 4. Make sure they have multiple sources of water...NEVER rely on just one bottle, or container! The water needs to be out of the sun, and kept clean. A bun can die of dehydration rather than drink dirty water. If you use ball bearing style water bottles, move them to a height that the bun can still drink from, but are unable to lay against them. Buns are smart enough to know that if they apply pressure, the water comes out and runs on them to cool them. You will come home to an empty bottle, and a dead or dying bun. 5. DO NOT cover the hutch and run in a tarp...it is NOT cooler, it will in fact cook your bun......a tarp to the top only of the run, ensuring lots of air flow to the now shaded area is much better. Your bun will find the shady place for themselves, what they can't do is escape the humidity and heat if you encapsulate them in it. 6. Wetted down carpets on top of hutches and runs take away a bit of the heat, and provide shade at the same time. You can get cheap off-cuts of carpet from most flooring suppliers. 7. Wet foods.....feeding your buns foods that are high in water content, or wetted down, or even frozen in blocks of ice, will help them get the hydration they need on a hot day. 8. Trays of water. These can be used by buns to cool down. They wet their paws and wash their ears and face (this must be changed regularly as it naturally gets dirty)..be aware that if you have little kits they can possibly drown in these trays, be careful of the depth, and placement of the trays. Lop eared buns often lay with their ears in water, to help cool them down. 9. Hose down/mist the area they are in, the breeze will create an 'airconditioning' effect. 10. If all else fails, bring them inside to the airconditioning. See more
10.01.2022 Day 1 of HOLIDAYS! 6 girls now happily residing in their new banks on the verandah, 5 of them are getting ready to kindle in the next 3-4 days...so fingers crossed. Little bundles of energy are desperately running back and forth with mouthfuls of hay for their nests....so cute! 21 outdoor hutches scrubbed, and buns shuffled to their new homes. Just need to relocate the hutches tomorrow to their hot weather positions and we are sorted! Whew...big day! But well worth it for h...appy healthy buns :D Still to do...... Need to get more tiles, as we have more buns to get through the summer months than we had last year and there are a couple of hidey-hole boxes that need to be made for their runs. Need to count the ice bottles, and maybe put a few more in the deep freeze. The vegie/herb garden has taken off from all the rain we had through winter, and now sunshine to give it a boost, so lots of green treats for the buns! Need to get some more bales of pasture hay to help them through the major moult that is soon to happen if this warm weather keeps up. Fur feathers to come folks :) What do YOU do to prep for the change of seasons? Has the spring bug caught you in it's grasp too? :D See more
08.01.2022 Please share this PET RABBITS ARE NOT PEST RABBITS !! Australian rabbit owners and lovers, OUR RABBITS need your help TODAY.... In the last 4 months alone there has been over 5492 domestic rabbits including babies that have died from the new rogue rhdv2 (calici type virus) . We need to stop this we need a new vaccine NOW. WHAT IS RHDV rabbit haemorrhage disease virus. also known as Rabbit Calici Virus it causes the rapid development of blood clots in major organs such as lungs, heart and kidneys. These clots block blood vessels and result in haemorrhage and death from heart and respiratory failure within 30-40 hours however this suffering is prolonged with this new virus. Often the most ear piercing screams are heard as the rabbit is dying. It was Released into our environment to kill wild pest rabbits . A strain named RHDV2 was let out in Australia, It is a non species specific strain and our currently available vaccine does not cover it. Pet rabbits are NOT pest rabbits - we need an updated vaccine for pet rabbits TODAY and help to stop the release of anymore hazardous virus's. Please take a minute to fill out this survey to help the government understand how many Domestic rabbits there are in Australia and how much we care about them. 07.01.2022 This will be my last one...but I am sure it will be a blast :D Anyone that is associated with the club....this is also the date of the AGM for NCRC, so please come along. Let me know if you haven't received your nomination packs and I will send one through.
05.01.2022 As many of you now know, I am getting out of rabbits for personal reasons. It has been a very difficult decision that has been a long time coming, but is best for myself and my family. As a result, I am listing my buns for sale. -All buns will have a reserve price listed.... -Offers will be accepted from 8pm Sunday 3rd of July. -Payments to be received and arrangements to collect, or transport must be sorted and confirmed by Friday 15th July -I reserve the right of refusal - these are my buns until they leave my rabbitry and I will take all due care in ensuring the person with the best offer is also the best place for my bun to go. Please take into consideration the fact that I am NOT a photographer and these pics were taken outside on the first sunny day in three weeks. Poor posing is my fault, not the rabbits. I am located in Wodonga, on the Hume HWY so most transport companies drive right past us.
