11.01.2022 REAL WEDDING as shared by Leonie Watson Bellingen Marriage Celebrant ; What is it about small intimate weddings that makes me feel deeply into my heart? Love i...s palpable. It is this simple. The day had turned a little rainy, heavy falls followed by a light mist. Arriving at the promised land I was greeted with a light fairy rain, the green of the forest shimmered behind the cool waters of the river. The forest was alight with mysterious shadows. I waited on the rocks, wondering if I could go barefoot, my favourite way of standing when doing a wedding, connecting to mother earth underfoot, allowing the rocks to massage my feet. The guests arrived, two long time friends of this couple who were witness and photographer to this vulnerable elopement. Peeking through the palm fronds I saw Nathan and Bryanna and to my delight they were barefoot. Hurriedly kicking off my shoes I joined them in the delight of the water tickling and caressing our feet. The light was everchanging as it does when overcast. Connecting with the hearts that were on offer, I witnessed love with overflowing glistening beauty. Bryanna and Nathan were shielded by a see through umbrella as they exchanged their vows, rings carefully placed on fingers, documents signed, all witnessed by the quiet forest with its whispering leaves overhead. A simple delight My favourite kind of wedding is outdoors, the elements playing, mother earth under our bare feet with love encompassing all. It is not the number of guests, the food, the hall or the confetti, it issimply love.
