22.01.2022 Last month, a close friend of mine lost her dog suddenly and quite traumatically. She called me this week crying. She apologised, saying, I’m sorry, I know I should be dealing with this better by now. I told her and I’d like to share this same advice with anyone suffering loss right now, that grief does not work that way. Grief is not a straight line. ... There are seven stages of grief and we frequently shift back and forth between them. We may be going along fine for weeks, feeling stronger and filled with hope, when grief suddenly hits us hard and we are back in a stage of utter sadness and despair. 06.01.2022 Whether it's a working relationship, a friendship, a lover or spouse, setting healthy boundaries - and respecting those of others, can only ever be beneficial. When/if you begin to feel resentment towards someone, it's often a sign that your boundaries are being encroached upon. Likewise, if you feel someone pulling away from you, you may wish to face inwards and check you haven't inadvertently overstepped a mark with a mate. ... Boundaries are healthy and necessary for all of us, particularly in this roller coaster of a year. Decide on your boundaries and be sure to keep them in place. You can set them without upsetting others, and you can certainly respect the boundaries of others without feeling as though you've lost out on anything. 06.01.2022 The first week of Spring could see us feeling like we need a change. A change in ourselves, or our old habits. Or perhaps even some new habits we may have formed during this very trying year. Habits by nature are hard to break, as are patterns of behaviour, but it most certainly can be done! How to begin a process of transformation? Begin with small steps one task/issue at a time and please begin with smaller less challenging ones. Don’t try to take on everything tha...t challenges you in one sweep it is a recipe for failure. Expect to stumble and know that you can try again and again and again practice helps get you where you want to be.
