14.01.2022 Events up to 5,000 people to be allowed from January 2021 The NSW Government announced this morning that planning is underway to allow up to 5,000 people at any given time to attend major events in regional NSW. This is a fantastic news for local businesses, tourism operators and for L’Étape Australia by Tour de France.... L’Étape Australia by Tour de France will implement safety measures such as check-in on arrival via QR codes, limited capacity in the village (to respect the 4 square metres rule) and limited touch points. In an effort to provide its community with a Le Tour de France experience this November, L’Étape Australia by Tour de France has partnered with FulGaz to create the first edition of the Virtual L'Étape Australia by Tour de France! Fulgaz is the only online platform based on high resolution real-life footage. The team at Fulgaz has filmed the entire course of the 5th edition of L'Étape Australia (in Kiama, the Shoalhaven and the Souther...n Highlands) to make it available to you, from the comfort of your living room (and at a healthy distance from other riders). Three stages (each featuring a major climb) will take place across three weekends in November 2020. Registrations will open on Wednesday 14 October 2020 at 10am at www.letapeaustralia.com. 09.01.2022 Congratulations Richie! Richie Porte's story with Le Tour de France is inspiring and should be told in all cycling clubs. Richie worked as a super domestique for Chris Froome and helped him won the Tour de France. He then tried his luck as a leader and faced bad luck twice, falling and leaving the Tour early.... But Richie never abandoned his dream, and last night he stood on the Tour de France podium, doing is family, his friends and everyone in Australia immensely proud. This is what high performance, elite sport and sometime life is all about: believe in yourself, work hard and be resilient. "You just can't beat the person who never gives up", Babe Ruth. S. Ackling established the fastest time 40min 24s. He his also currently leading the general classification.... C. Robins is leading the female classification with a time of 54min 17s. If you would like to receive your registration pack at home, please click the link below. 02.01.2022 Thank you and congratulations to all the riders who braved the heat wave this weekend and still travelled to Kiama NSW Australia, Visit Shoalhaven and Destination Southern Highlands to enjoy the fantastic scenery and ride the L’Étape Australia by Tour de France route. It was a fantastic surprise for local businesses to see so many riders stopping for coffees and lunch despite the event being postpone to 19-20 March 2021. Registrations for the 5th edition of L'Étape Australia by Tour de France (19-20 March 2021), are selling fast, and a first in best dressed policy will be implemented should the event be capped to comply with Public Health Orders at the time of the event. We recommend riders to register early to secure their spot and avoid disappointment.
