23.01.2022 Last month, Alita shaved her long, beautiful hair. It was only a matter of time before she braved the shave. She had watched four much-loved family members each face leukaemia. "I've always had beautiful long brown curly hair. Parting with it was a big decision, but at the same time, it was easy. The amount of support and love I have received after has been truly amazing too!"... "I was finally inspired to do it after one of my friends took part," she said. "I saw how courageous she was. She helped me with the process and has been a big part of helping me fundraise, too," she said. Alita raised an incredible $1,300! When the next family needs to urgently uproot their lives to move closer to life-saving blood cancer treatment Alita has given them a safe place to stay for two weeks... at no cost to them. You're an absolute superhero!

22.01.2022 Gold Coast Titans lock Jai Arrow braved a heroic shave on Monday! Jai braved the shave in honour of his mum Nicole, who is in remission for Hodgkin lymphoma, as well as in support of all Australians who have faced blood cancer. "I know it’s been a tough year for our national community between the bushfires and COVID-19 - but blood cancer continues all year round... It was time to give my mullet the chop for a worthy cause!" 19.01.2022 Two years ago, Cody's family friend was diagnosed with leukaemia. Seeing her lose all of her hair during treatment devastated Cody, and he made a promise that day to grow his hair out and one day shave it for the Leukaemia Foundation This year, Cody's promise was kept! He shaved off all 25 centimetres, and his family friend helped cut the first locks herself. ... All up, Cody raised over $500 and couldn't be happier with the result "He is definitely missing the long hair! But he is also embracing the new look," Cody's mum Kellianne said. Way to go, Cody! What a brave commitment and a beautiful gesture to your friend's blood cancer journey. We couldn't be more in awe

18.01.2022 Violet's gearing up to brave the World’s Greatest Shave in honour of her Yaya, who sadly passed away from blood cancer This little champion initially hoped to raise $1,000, but has now SMASHED her goal with over $1,500 raised! Here she is giving the run-down on why she's taking part...

18.01.2022 Two-year-old Arlo is a certified CHAMPION shaver! Earlier last month, Arlo took on the clippers and sheared off his much-loved mulletand he couldn't have been more excited! "He was so proud of himself," Arlo's mum Brooke told us. ... "He was telling everyone for months beforehand that he was doing the World's Greatest Shave. Even now when people ask him where his hair went, he tells them about the money he raised." So far Arlo has raised almost $500 mostly from family and friends who wanted to see the mullet gone, according to Brooke! Way to go, Arlo! Thank you for braving the shave!

16.01.2022 For three years, Darwin has been growing his hair just so he can shave it off and make a difference in the lives of Australian families facing blood cancer. "I just want to help people with leukaemia. I think it's great to be able to do something that raises awareness about blood cancer." It's been his dream for years to brave the shave and fundraise for the Leukaemia Foundation and this month, his dream came true. ... "It was truly an important moment in my life. It was the happiest day of my year so far." Darwin shaved not only to raise awareness for families facing blood cancer but for his Aunt who sadly passed away from Leukaemia when he was 15. The $610 Darwin raised will give a regional family a free place to stay near treatment in the city for a week, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you, Darwin! 15.01.2022 Jasmine had always wanted to brave the World's Greatest Shave, but in her own words... was never brave enough! That is, until COVID-19. "COVID completely halted my floristry business and instead of focusing on the negative, I wanted to use this time to help others and do those things I've always said I wanted to do," she said. ... In the end, Jasmine raised a FANTASTIC total over $3800! What an amazing shave! "I was completely blown away by the support I had and it's been an amazing experience!" 15.01.2022 Last month, Year 11 and 12 students from St Mary's Anglican Girls' School caped up to raise an AMAZING $28,000! Three Year 12 girls shaved their heads, while another 33 students cut off their ponytails to help Aussie families facing blood cancer. The Junior School also joined in the spirit of the day, wearing wigs, colourful ribbons and other ‘crazy hair’ creations! ... For St Mary's Anglican School, it's a cause close to their hearts as Year 5 student Chloe was diagnosed with leukaemia. Chloe and her mum Sharon bravely spoke at the school event, describing Chloe’s journey from diagnosis to recovery. To all the outstanding students, parents, teachers and supporters of this incredible event, thank you!

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Luke Brattan for his Community Medal in the 2020 Professional Footballers Australia Played Awards! Luke has been recognised for raising over $30,000 for his shave in honour of his sister Holli-Mia, who was diagnosed with Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukaemia. Congratulations, Luke! We couldn't be more amazed by this fantastic family of fundraisers, who combined their efforts last month across the country to stand behind their bravest, littlest friend. Over 45 team members of friends and family braved the shave in honour of two-year-old Oscar, who was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia earlier this year. ... 05.01.2022 For 15-year-old Georgia, signing up for World's Greatest Shave was a way to show solidarity and support for her mum, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in June last year. Initially, Georgia's plan was to simply cut and colour her hair. Just days before it was time for the trim though, she decided to shave it all and keep it a secret from her mum! "I wanted to do something special. This is a cause that is very, very close to my heart," Georgia said.... So far, Georgia has raised over $4,900, after initially only aiming to raise $2,500! "And I'm still receiving donations as we speak!" she said. Way to go, Georgia! Congratulations on your amazing shave, and for your brave act of solidarity and support for your mum!
