22.01.2022 I love this. How relevant it this especially in work related situations. Climbing the ladder, getting a promotion, new to leadership, new workplace etc etc. But it really made me think about when you go for a job interview. How nervous do we get and it’s usually caused by doubt. Should I even be going for this role? Am I qualified, experienced, knowledgeable enough? Will I be able to answer the questions? Will they like me? Ok so you obviously will need to believe in yours...elf for longer than 5 mins to get through an interview, but self belief is huge. How do you increase your self belief? Some soul searching and a bit of ‘faking it til you make it’ can work. But preparation is key. And that’s where I come in. I love helping people prepare for interviews - that’s my jam!! 15.01.2022 This!! Being a good leader doesn’t mean you have to be the expert in all things, nor is it possible. You don’t always have to have the answer, you just need to know where to get it. Utilise the strengths/knowledge within your team. Empower your team to develop their skills, be the expert on something, teach them how to train others. ... Not only will this take some pressure off yourself as a leader, you’ll also be developing your potential future leaders, building their self confidence, and providing them with a sense of responsibility which increases motivation. 14.01.2022 Don’t forget the small talk. While working remotely, our communication has been limited to phone, email or video conferencing. In the workplace, incidental conversations that are had while making a coffee, passing each other in the hallway, or over the water cooler are not easily had when working remotely. And those are the conversations that mean more to some people and are being sorely missed atm. Those conversations can also do wonders for your relationship with your tea...m members.
