18.01.2022 $2 MILLION TO WIDEN & SEAL LAST GRAVEL SECTION OF BINGARA ROAD Good news: One of our region’s busy local roads - Bingara Road - between Bundarra and Cop...eton Dam and Bingara, will shortly be fully widened and sealed, thanks to an investment of $2 million from the State Government. It was a pleasure to join Uralla Shire Council Mayor Mick Pearce recently on the road to make the announcement for the exiting project, which council will contribute $880,000, to bitumen seal the remaining 8.4km gravel section of Bingara Road. This will make the road wider and much safer for locals and visitors heading out to Copeton Dam or to Bingara. It will also see the road rated for B-doubles, which is great news for farmers and local freight companies as this will reduce the length of trips by 50km. Bingara Road has seen a huge increase in traffic in the last few years, as Copeton has become a more popular holiday and recreation spot. As someone who drives this road regularly to head to Bingara or further west to Moree and beyond, sealing what remains of the gravel will be most welcomed. Funding for this project comes from the NSW Fixing Country Roads Program and council will get started on it very soon. 10.01.2022 We started letterbox dropping for the Ward A By-election. Charlotte as you might have gathered is my lovely wife. Her mother; Daphne Field served the community for a number of years both on council and at the Neighbourhood Centre.... Charlotte is hoping to bring equal representation to council for women and help represent the younger families and members of our community. Keep an eye out for our little introduction flyer.
