23.01.2022 In recognition of Red Nose Day, we used coloured play dough to put on our red nose faces, and we made red nose cookies using lollies and M&M's, the children enjoyed these experiences.

22.01.2022 As we see some cold, wet and windy weather rolling in we are looking at ways to bring some of our outdoor play spaces indoors. This allows the children to still be able to continue their development of gross motor muscles, coordination, balance, strength, hand-eye coordination, just to name a few. On days that are just to wet to venture outside, our Great Explorers and Big Inventors are enjoying new play spaces including walking planks, bowling, table tennis etc.

22.01.2022 This Is Garry, the children love to feed, pat and care for him. We can see Garry through the windows in the dining room. Garry helps make separating from parents easy in the mornings and he will never say no to a carrot

22.01.2022 This activity allowed the children to explore their creativity and imagination freely. Exploring the patterns the Natures Paint Brushes transferred onto the paper. Each paint brush had a different type of plant leaf attached to them which created different patterns and textures on the paper. We discovered that one of the paint brushes was more prickly and hard while another one was soft and a bit floppy. Each created a different textured pattern on the paper. THE LEARNING... 21.01.2022 Celebrating World Ocean Day. The children explored the beauty of the oceans colours and Sea animals using sensory exploration and learning through books and their conversations with their educators and peers. The children used words such as fish, water, green and lots to describe the experience. They demonstrated curiosity and imagination while engaging in the experience.

20.01.2022 Introducing our new Spring Menu Today we had make your own wraps. The children had a selection of chicken, cheese, spinach, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, beetroot, corn, mushrooms, capsicum, sour cream and hummus. It was amazing to see the combinations of wraps being made. Smiles all round

19.01.2022 Before learning to read and write, children first learn the art of story telling. This helps them to develop an understanding of sentence structure and narrative. It builds their vocabulary and understanding of words, sounds and phonics. As well as grows children's creativity, imagination and so much more. The children in Great Explorers, Coolstores have been exploring the medium of story telling through new play spaces that include puppets, props and a variety of story books

18.01.2022 Little Grasshoppers will be transforming their foyers into Christmas Wonderlands. Main Street Great Explorers helped to create this magical story.

18.01.2022 Today the children and educators of Coolstores,came together to enjoy the first day of spring, and the warmer weather with a group sports morning. All the children from Babies through to kinder, participated in a variety of activities including balancing beams,hurdles,stepping stones and throwing and catching. Our beautiful babies enjoyed bopping along to the stereo.... These activities help the children practise many skills such as Balancing, hand eye co-ordination, Jumping, throwing, catching and moving their bodies with enhanced skill and coordination. Afterwards we awarded all the children with a medal to acknowledge their involvement in sports Day!

12.01.2022 This week we are learning about Farm animals. We read the book "Belinda." After the story we decided to create our own cow for the kinder room. The children helped create the cow using recycled materials and we named her Bessie. We learnt that cows produce milk and had fun milking our Bessie. We are looking forward to what's to come for the rest of our farm week.

09.01.2022 The kindergarten children at Coolstores love to cook! So this week we have been making our favourite food out of various art materials. The children's 3D art included plates of strawberries, cakes, fish and chips and much more! Following on from these ideas we will be cooking some of the children's favourite food next week.

05.01.2022 Today Coostores enjoyed a visit from the fabulous Wiggley Worm Dance company. The children danced along to their favourite Christmas songs with pom poms, tinsel and hula hoops. They learnt new dances, listened to a Christmas story and even had a visit from Santa who took them through a Christmas themed obstacle course! And much, much more! The children had a fabulous time and what a great way to start our week of Christmas celebrations!

05.01.2022 The Big Inventors at Eramosa made some fake snow. The children enjoyed making snow hills and throwing snow balls at the base of the tray and watching them break apart. Best of all it wasnt cold and wet!

04.01.2022 Today was a very special day at Little Grasshoppers! A day where we welcomed back our families into the centre! After a long period of lockdowns and covid-19 restrictions beginning in April this year that unfortunately meant our families were unable to come inside the building. Today, we welcomed them back inside and what a special moment it was for all! The children enthusiastically showed their families their art works hanging on the wall, introduced them to their friend...s and even engaged them in their faviourate activities. It was a great moment as the children's faces lit up with smiles as we came back together with children, families and educators sharing our space. See more

03.01.2022 Our Discovery Bubs enjoying drawing with pencils. As well as being fun, drawing is a creative experience that promotes pre literacy and fine motor skills.

02.01.2022 The children at Main Street helped to organise a surprise Baby Shower Morning Tea. They had lots of fun making the wrapping paper and blowing up balloons and playing with them. After the surprise we had lots of questions about what is a baby shower. Mat time today was full of questions and answers for curious minds.

01.01.2022 Exploring Trucks The children in the Great Explorers room at Eramosa had so much fun exploring different types of trucks. They learnt about excavators, tractors and rubbish trucks just to name a few. The children learnt about the differences between the trucks and discussed different jobs that each truck would do.

01.01.2022 Exploring and investigating can teach young minds so much. We froze small dinosaurs in balloons and then used different techniques to help the ice to melt.
