25.01.2022 Keep your face to the sun and you cannot see the shadows.

25.01.2022 The balcony was once again packed with supporters for the Busselton Hockey Association Final’s yesterday. This Club continues to kick goals with a membership over over 500 players - even during this COVID year! Congratulations to Wally Lord and the awesome team behind one of the regions strongest sporting clubs

24.01.2022 Fantastic to join over 800 netball players the Minister for Sport Mick Murray & the @City of Busselton for the opening of the Lois Hannay Pavillion over the weekend. A great collaborative project which supports the states largest regional centre outside Perth-Peel.

24.01.2022 Small Business Day is an initiative of @Small Business Matters & an important reminder of the value of our local employers who take a risk to provide a service & support local jobs. What better way to show you support than to shop local today & this Christmas!

23.01.2022 I personally witnessed staff change criteria, alter reports before their public release and even ignore serious red flags... A damning assessment from a Westport Taskforce stakeholder on the government’s plans to shut down Fremantle Port & build the Outer Harbour, no matter the cost.

21.01.2022 Fantastic to see a sandy beach thanks to the ongoing efforts of Port Geographe Action Group to see the progress of improvement over the last 23 years. I have written to the Minister for Transport in support of the suggested Seagrass Wrack Improvement Program earlier to ensure there is a level of certainty for community members going forward to build on this progress & to ensure there is an improved amenity by September in future years.

21.01.2022 While we support concessions for classic and modified car club members, the Liberals WA oppose the unnecessary red tape for vintage and veteran car club members imposed by the Labor Govt, which is not what was promised. This will put an unnecessary burden on over 100 hobby clubs across the state who support regional tourism, raise funds for local charities at club events and encourage great social benefits for many retirees in particular. https://fb.watch/2YMw3e0gR3/

21.01.2022 Celebrating 50 years of Dunsborough Arts Society at Yallingup Hall with winner of first prize in the Golden Spring Exhibition, Evee Hirst & Nola Marino MP. This exhibition extends til Monday with wonderful array of over 200 pieces of art from our local artists.

20.01.2022 Christmas celebrations continue at Busselton Senior Citizens Club

20.01.2022 Fantastic to see Busselton’s Damon Greaves make his AFL debut today AND named in the best players - well done!

20.01.2022 Over 1000+ METRONET advocates led by @futurebayswater have petitioned Parliament, calling for the original design that was promoted for the problematic Bayswater station to be delivered. In addition to blowouts in time & cost the McGowan Govt have been dishonest on design as well. It’s been valuable supporting Donna Faragher MLC as the local Member in her efforts on behalf of the community to see the McGowan Govt deliver the original design as promised.

20.01.2022 Love this initiative from the legends at ACTIV!

20.01.2022 It’s always wonderful to catch up with the crew at Nova Village for our annual Christmas Sundowner. Sharing the cheer about how lucky we are to live in a fantastic community that cares

19.01.2022 Labor have again failed to outline how they’ll deal with dangerous congestion in our Southern suburbs. The Liberals will build Roe 8&9 keeping families safe on our roads, safe in their communities & improve Beeliar Regional Park with $45 million investment https://thewest.com.au//wa-election-2021-mcgowan-governmen

18.01.2022 Busselton Hospice Care Incorporated received another generous boost from the community with the 17th Gail Kearney Golf Day. Yesterday’s event was a sell out, with 40 teams tipped to boost the $510,000 in funds raised so far over the events history. A big thanks to Jan & Neil Honey, Glenn Paterson & Mike Kearney and of course our sponsors and generous community for pulling another successful fundraiser together for the benefit of our wonderful hospice service.

18.01.2022 A fantastic celebration of 20 years of Wills Domain Winery with the wonderful Haunold family led by Darren and many supporters from the community & industry including WA’s top chef Melissa Palinkas. Congratulations to the Wills Domain team on their outstanding achievement as an iconic regional producer and leader in both food and wine over 2 decades.

17.01.2022 Western Australians are lucky to enjoy some of the most pristine natural marine environments in the world and the Liberals want to make sure these are protected... for future generations to enjoy as part of our plan for a better, brighter tomorrow. That’s why we will invest in fish restocking programs, four new artificial reefs at coastal erosion hotspots and keep Western Australians safe with upgraded jetties and platforms. We will also increase funding to further protect and restore marine habitats as part of our $36 million boost to recreational fishing. WA’s recreational fishing sector creates 13,500 local jobs. Not only will our plan improve and protect our marine environment, it will back local jobs and back local recreational fishers. The contrast between the Liberals and Labor is as crystal clear as Cockburn Sound. The Liberals will protect our natural marine environments for future generations and back local fishing jobs. Labor will destroy Cockburn Sound with a new duplicated and automated port, obliterating the only known place pink snapper spawn in the West Coast Bioregion and the seagrass meadows which are vital for helping fish stocks. 17.01.2022 From thin on the ground to turning volunteers away. Yesterday’s rescue efforts were another great illustration of how well our emergency services work together regardless of truck colour, badge or uniform. According to Wayne Credaro from Busselton’s SES, volunteer fire and rescue teams supported the search efforts in the same way the SES pitch where they can in during fire season. It’s quite telling that locally many of the career personnel across our emergency services are also volunteers, representing a great relationship amongst those amazing people who give up their time to protect us.

17.01.2022 Big thanks to Max and all the volunteer ambo’s from across the region who gave up a night of celebration to keep our community safe!

16.01.2022 Busselton Districts Junior Football Grand Final Day was a fantastic celebration of community sport thanks to the leadership across the participating clubs and the association. Congrats to winning teams Saints (Yr 7) and Country’s (Yr 8 & 9/10) as well as Vasse, Wanderers and Dunsborough Blues for being competitive. From supporting the canteen, to umpiring and coaching our leaders of tomorrow to playing your best - today’s GF’s had many champions.

16.01.2022 There’s an outstanding opportunity for the state to support a trial of the breastfeeding app HelpMe Feed. As the clinical lead in this fantastic global project, Karina Ayres has developed a tech which will provide 24/7 support to mums with breastfeeding - providing a vital information & connection with community coaches from around the world.https://www.margaretrivermail.com.au//cowaramup-nurse-cl/

15.01.2022 It’s was terrific to be able to officially open the Busselton Tennis Season yesterday with sponsors life members, volunteers and of course plenty of players. The new Committee Chaired by President James McGregor have already seen memberships grow & an expanded junior program. It’s great to see tennis continue to grow in Busselton.

14.01.2022 The WA Labor Govt is the most secretive Govt since WA Inc. The Auditor General should be dedicating resources to exposing real issues in the public sector instead of managing such a large volume of unanswered questions under WA Labor’s watch. @LiberalsWA https://t.co/H87U2bGBpX

12.01.2022 Great to hear little Jimmy has been found alive and well. Big thanks to our legendary Police, SES & volunteers for their efforts in finding Jimmy just 1km from home.

12.01.2022 There’s no doubt that record growth across Busselton- Dunsborough has resulted in increased pressures on junior sport across the whole region. I’m looking forward to a follow up meeting with the Minister for Sport & the City to see how this region can benefit from state government funding for the @City of Busselton’s upcoming bid for the Dunsborough Sporting precinct.

11.01.2022 It was a great privilege to Open this years Lions Clubs International convention for W2 / W1 district in Busselton yesterday along with Busselton Lions Club members. Big thanks to all of our service clubs across the state for their generous efforts - with hearts and hands - to support the vulnerable and make our community a better place.

11.01.2022 JAMES HAS BEEN FOUND ALIVE! update 7.30pm WST | From WA Police: 3-year-old missing boy James has been located in bushland alive by a family member who was as...sisting with the land search operation. Given the time he has spent exposed to the rough terrain and poor weather conditions, arrangements will be made for him to have a medical check-up as a precaution. WA Police Force thanks all the emergency service volunteers and community members who assisted with the search. ----- POLICE UPDATE ON MISSING YALLINGUP BOY 1PM The search is continuing for missing 3-year-old boy James. In addition to his ‘Spiderman’ pyjamas it is believed he is wearing wellington boots. Resources deployed at this time include: Local police Police Air Wing (helicopter) Police Canine Unit SES Volunteers Police Mounted Section (enroute from Perth) There has been a significant response from the public, however it is important that members of public do not compromise the search activity. Police messages to the community are: Thank you to everyone who has attended the search area. The response has been significant. It is important members of the public do not venture into the bushland areas as they may inadvertently compromise evidence of where James has walked, and that could impact on the ability of trained searchers to track his movements. Anyone who is in the area already is asked to stick to the main tracks and roads. At this time there is no need for further members of the public to attend the location. For those people who are already on site it is important they register their attendance at the Incident Command Post which is located at the DFES SES building on Caves Road. - MISSING 3Y/O IN YALLINGUP Police are searching for a missing 3y/o in the area around Karli Rise, Yallingup. He was last seen about 7:30am today, Saturday 19 September 2020. He is described as fair skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes and is wearing white ‘Spiderman’ pyjamas. Anyone who sees the boy is asked to remain with him and call Police immediately on 000.

10.01.2022 A powerful account from one of our fellow West Australians on how our Premier has supported the popularity test over the morality test when it comes to returning citizens during COVID. The glimmer of hope that has grown out of recent changes of policy proposed by the Federal Government has largely been subdued by the states hostile response. https://thewest.com.au//coronavirus-crisis-former-digger-s

10.01.2022 Cycling with the kids on a Sunday afternoon, on the way to work in the morning or for keeping fit - 400,000 Western Australians ride a bike each week The number of people cycling in WA continues to grow, with a survey showing an extra 77,000 were riding in 2020. That’s why Zak Kirkup MP and the Liberals will deliver a comprehensive $81.3 million plan supporting the growth of cycling across WA for the daily commute, recreation, tourism and fitness.... Our plan will also help keep Western Australians safe on our shared paths and trails by: Teaching every primary school student important safety skills Widening shared paths that are used by pedestrians and cyclists Connecting major gaps along our freeways and train lines so cyclists can ride safely Investing in off-road trails, particularly in our regions, for local tourism and WA mountain bikers Learn more https://www.waliberal.org.au//80-million-plan-to-support-/

10.01.2022 Cycling, mountain biking and getting outdoors is such a big part of life in the region. Whether it’s cycling along the Busselton Foreshore or mountain biking at Meelup or enjoying parts of the Wadandi Track our community loves cycling. In our local community, this plan will invest ... $10 million in the Wadandi Track The Dunsborough / Yallingup Dual Use Path Further developing the Whicher Range Mountain bike trail Learn more about our plan for jobs and a healthier WA - https://www.waliberal.org.au//80-million-plan-to-support-c

10.01.2022 A great start to the morning with Man Walk Busselton with some great friends including visiting colleague Zak Kirkup MP

08.01.2022 Very special to be part of the Blue Tree Project at @Djiljit Mia Gathering Place today in Dunsborough. As we kick off the beginning of NAIDOC week, it was wonderful be at this gathering place which acknowledges place, people & country for the painting of a blue tree in recognition of mental health awareness. Big thanks to Shining Hope & also the @Dunsborough & Districts Progress Association for creating this positive place for our community.

06.01.2022 Warm congratulations to Dunsborough’s Historical Society for their valuable work in preserving our past and supporting our future.

06.01.2022 Sending yet another METRONET contract to a foreign multinational represents a missed opportunity for our own WA mid-tiers to compete. METRONET is becoming a WA project delivered by foreign-led multinationals. The local construction industry has every right to feel angry about not being given the opportunity to compete. https://thewest.com.au//liberals-slam-choice-of-foreign-co

05.01.2022 Fantastic to join the ACTIV workforce & some of our local businesses & the City of Busselton - Local Government for the official opening of their new digs in Busselton! From garden maintenance to wine labelling and manufacturing support, the ACTIV crew play a vital role in supporting our growing region

05.01.2022 It was valuable catching up with Chris Pavlovich from Southern Haulage in Albany, Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson & Liberal Candidate Scott Leary to hear how the state governments decision to hit the transport sector with additional hikes during COVID, is having an impact. Clearly the government has ignored the fact that these hikes hurt family businesses and the regions who rely on this important sector. https://gsweekender.com.au/wa-no-to-fee-freeze/

04.01.2022 The office has been overwhelmed by a strong but positive response to the Vasse community survey. It’s clear the community value having their say on what matters to them most. If you haven’t completed the community survey yet click on the online link or contact my office (97521949). https://www.busseltonmail.com.au//survey-hits-a-note-with/

03.01.2022 The McGowan Govt must deliver on their promise of gold standard transparency, given this is clearly in the public interest. The State must also at least ensure Forrestfield Airport link has no further delays, prioritises safety & Mr Deliu receives the support he deserves.

01.01.2022 After calling for real time alerts at Bunker Bay for over a year the its great to see the McGowan Govt respond to calls to provide this investment at Bunker Bay. These alerts are key in ensuring the public are aware of tagged sharks at this notorious but popular beach. https://thewest.com.au//bunker-bay-shark-attack-on-surfer-

01.01.2022 Love this good news story about one of our amazing local businesses Happs Pottery
