25.01.2022 Lola, Pippa & Kate... #gerringong Q1. What do you miss? ... Catchups with friends, organising events and workshops for south coast visitors and heading out for weekends away! Q2. What are you looking forward to most? Catchups with friends in restaurants with a cocktail. Swimming laps and working on creating itineraries for holiday makers. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? Being more present in my day and enjoying how time has slowed down. Having more quality time with my teens and letting go of materialism, to some extent. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation Kate

25.01.2022 Paul, Alison and pup Cooper, standing where their home was before the horrific January bushfires engulfed much of their property, including their house. This is also about where their new home will be... #kangaroovalley... Alison: To be honest Im not sure how to respond. Being bushfire affected has had the most impact. Being in isolation hasnt made a difference. Trades people come, our adult children have visited, we have been busy with no thoughts to any travel plans. Maybe the double whammy of bushfire and covid leaves us in neutral, if that makes any sense. We are buoyed by our rebuild and many of the trades people are friends. There is a lot to be done, but we are so very optimistic of what we can replace, change and do better for our family and our guests in the future! #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation #2020bushfires #kangaroovalley #banksiaparkcottages Banksia Park Cottages

PARENTS MISSED: being able to look in the fridges at Manning St Cellars. Lucky we trust Dave to make good choices for us! KIDS MISSED: friends, sport, seeing Grandma and sewing with our neighbour. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? PARENTS: Hopefully continuing to enjoy a slower paced life with our kids. Looking forward to camping a bit on the weekends and being able to sit on the beach without having to be exercising. KIDS: feeling comfortable seeing people. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? PARENTS: how much weve loved and enjoyed a quieter life at home with our family. KIDS: that we can make up fun games at home with what weve got. Our favourites are the Cup and Bowl game, Bum Tip, Rock Island, The Great Escape and Survivor #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

23.01.2022 Gai, Wes and Fin... #kangaroovalley Q1. What have you missed most?... Freedom! Missed how freely we could move about, spontaneity of trips and visits and family. Most challenging was the fear I felt for the elders in our communities and lives and watching the impact isolation had on them. Q2. What are you looking forward to most? Freedom! But to visit those Ive most missed and re-connected with in this time. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? How much we valued our time in isolation bubble. We technically had less time with the additional work and homeschooling, yet it felt such a privilege which we felt grateful for. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

23.01.2022 Joel, Damon and Marcus, with mum & dad Nicole and Stuart and Rafa the dog... #kiamadowns Q1 What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging?... We all miss seeing our friends and playing sport. The most challenging has been all trying to work and study in the same space. Q2: What are you looking forward to after self isolation? We are looking forward to catching up with our friends. We have been lucky that the beach near us has remained open and we have still been allowed to surf. Q3: What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? The kids are getting along better and can (mostly) sort out their own squabbles. I have loved having time to for the family to get involved in cooking nice meals and baking. We can even make a good sourdough loaf now! #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation @nicolehensman

23.01.2022 Gordon & Rita... #gerringong Q1. What are you missing?... a. Having the freedom to move about - visit folk and be involved in usual activities. b. Missing seeing some family members face to face and not being able to give them a hug. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? Getting back to doing those things listed above. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? The fact that we have coped very well. Have been able to relax free of usual commitments and get many things done about the house. Not that we want lockdown to continue long term but so far no problems. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

23.01.2022 Leo, Erica, Arthur, Steven, Rose & Lady... #jamberoo Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging? ... Missing our family and friends has been hard, the kids miss their grandparents a lot. The most challenging part of isolation for me has been homeschooling, its a juggle on the good days. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? A few hours to myself. And seeing our lovely town busy again. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? It was nice to be reminded that we are all pretty happy on our own company most of the time. Farm life and creek swims definitely help. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

22.01.2022 Pete & Mel... #kiama Q1. What are you missing?... Pete has missed not being able to jump in the car and visit his grandchildren as we were planning a trip up to Byron to see them. Ive missed also not just being able to get away for the weekend. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? We are both looking forward to visiting a winery for a lovely lunch, our traditional Sunday excursion. Jumping in Petes MG and heading out. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? On the whole though we have enjoyed this time and had plenty to do around the house, we are one of the lucky ones in this situation. Its been lovely having my daughter Bronte back home and spending time playing chess. It was also great to spend time with my son Henri and having the time to listen and watch him making his music. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation Melanie

21.01.2022 Julie & Craig... #sanctuarypoint Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging? ... Missing our family and friends most of all. The good times with our grandchildren - the giggles, hugs and cuddles only they can give. The most challenging aspect of isolation would be the uncertainty of these times and the desire to see family and friends, and not knowing when that would be possible. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? We are really looking forward to visiting family and friends. Enjoying their company over a meal or happy hour drinks. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? We have loved having the time to read a book, cook together, go for quiet walks and simply enjoying each others company. I have also found it rewarding to learn a few new technological skills and using social media platforms to keep in touch with those we love. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation Craig

Most challenging is really missing human connection and having to rely on friends to do things that I am unable to do at present. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? Looking forward to going back to Belly Dancing. Also looking forward to see how and if people really change things in their lives. Q3. 18.01.2022 Pippa & Guy up the back, with Miles and Evie... #jamberoo Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging? ... Grandparents. Before the virus we saw our parents all the time. They helped look after the kids, hung out with us and were part of our routine. Limiting contact has felt very unnatural for everyone. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? Guy and Evie are looking forward to going back to the Jamberoo Bowlo, Miles is looking forward to playing on the play equipment in the park and Im looking forward to hugging my mum. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? Guy: how easy its been to make the adjustment. Pippa: I keep hearing people talk about all the extra things they are learning, or doing around the house, reading etc. but I havent done much of that. I dont feel like in this experience I have gained any extra time. I wonder if Im missing a trick? #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat Pippa @portraitsinisolation @guystearn

Catching up with friends and family and celebrating some significant birthdays that weve had in isolation. Finding the balance was tricky, especially in the first few weeks of lockdown. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? R. Found it interesting that she misses school, and didnt realise that she would so much. B. How easy it was to transition into doing school work from home. M. What are you looking forward to? Im looking forward to being allowed to hug again especially my Grandmother & visiting friends Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? Ive turned into a bit of a green thumb, Im spending more time in the garden. I have a pumpkin patch growing & a small vege garden. I love showing Connor how vegetables grow & getting his hands dirty. What I have also loved is having my personal space when grocery shopping I hope we can still enforced this ... What I found interesting was the retaliation from people & hoarding toilet paper Im still scratching my head over this one #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

14.01.2022 Betty the dog, Ollie, Lucy and Charlie... #kangaroovalley Q1: What have you missed during this time?... Ollie: Being limited to one place is weird. Its not like Id be travelling much anyway, but having the option has always been there. Its made me view the outside world with a bit of wonder actually. Everything feels much further away, and changed. Charlie: Freedom is something I miss dearly. Knowing that a police officer can fine you for seeing a friend or having a picnic is deeply troubling. Thinking of an excuse for why Im going out is the most challenging part. Lucy: Cancelling the holiday I had planned with my brother was rough. Especially after the stress with the bushfires this holiday was something Id been pinning as my recovery from the stress. In reality, the cancelling of social engagements and the lack of options has been relaxing. Q2: What are you looking forward to most? Charlie: Not having to worry so much about hygiene. Not being scared to see people. Ollie: Im looking forward to seeing a change in the way people interact. I reckon itll be way more exciting for everyone and just a simple hug will go so much further. Lucy: Seeing how the world reacts as a whole in regards to pollution, world economy and whether this time has taught us anything or if everything just goes back to how it was before. Also Im looking forward to buying some clothes and going to the pub! Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? Lucy: How much Ive enjoyed thinking about the way life would be if it has always been this way. For example, before cars and travel were commonplace and how people amused themselves within these parameters. Ive enjoyed the slowdown and have felt nostalgic for a time I didnt actually live through. Ollie: Theres a definite difference with the coronavirus era. Its not just like everyones the same but with the added inconvenience of self-isolation. People need interaction to be human. Ive been feeling urges to hug people I see in the street lately but now thats seen as an assassination attempt. Charlie: I believe my work ethic has shifted positively after this began and that Ive turned my work life from an afterthought to a priority which I believe differs from the general population as lots of people have lost their jobs and are focussing on other things. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation Lucy

11.01.2022 Malcolm... #bomaderry Q1. What have you missed most, and what has been most challenging?... l miss having fellowship with my family and my church family. 09.01.2022 Tracy & Mark, where their home was before the bushfires. For now they are living in the big green bus... #budgong Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging? ... There was help in the beginning after the fires, then covid hit and the help seemed to dry up. We were still with nowhere to stay, only a tent no power, no shower, no toilet. It was all just up to us to get on with life and make the most of it. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? After the restrictions were partly lifted we were hoping to be able to try and organise some working bees but nothing as yet. So really nothing has changed. If it is to be it is up to us. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? We have always stuck mainly to ourselves so this just enforced that we are totally at ease with just the 2 of us having to do everything ourselves. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation #2020bushfires

09.01.2022 Hannah & the Housemates... #leichhardt Q1. What are you missing?... We all miss having a drink at our local bar - The Golden Gully! Q2. What are you looking forward to most? Were all excited to go out dancing in a crowd again, that seems to be a top priority. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? Weve developed some new routines which has been so different to how we lived before - we cook dinner for each other almost every night, weve set up a boot camp in the backyard, we watch movies and play games in our spare time. 06.01.2022 Danny & Sam in their garden, with guide dogs Sheba & Ellie... #dapto Q1. What have you missed most during this time?... We both missed seeing our oldest daughter and her two little girls the most, followed by being able to perform music to a live audience, and being active leaders in the climate justice community, re rallies, protests etc. most challening was the fact that we literally did not leave our property for seven weeks, not even for a walk, as we just cannot distance properly from others due to being blind. Dannys skin was cracked and sore from constant handwashing from even things like putting shopping away, and i ended up very very depressed and lacking motivation. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? We looked forward to being able to touch the grandkids, but we have enjoyed the quiet, having more birds around, and landscaping our garden and little pond. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? I was surprised at how low I was for weeks, but once I snapped out of that we motivatd ourselves to start a youtube channel, do the garden, rearrange a lot of the house. I think weve learnt to be much more self reliant, and even now its essentially over, were still not in a hurry to get back out there into the real world! #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation Cocky Guides @dannynoonan @samnoonan

06.01.2022 Col & Vicky... #erowalbay Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation? ... We especially miss hugs, kisses, cuddles and catch ups with family and friends. Also the freedom to socialise in the local area at cafes, restaurants, bars and the local brewery. Its also difficult knowing that we dont have the option to travel anywhere, here or overseas. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? Spending lots of time with our kids and grandkids and eventually returning to our exploration of our beautiful country. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? We have enjoyed the extra time just appreciating the simple things in life. Its heightened our awareness of how lucky we are to be living where we do and have been enjoying living a more relaxed and quiet lifestyle. Learning to communicate with family and friends via zoom has been and a fun and interesting experience. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography @portraitsinisolation #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation Col Evans & Vicky Evans

05.01.2022 Louise, Patricia, Spot and Samuel... #unanderra Q1. What do you miss most? ... Human touch, I miss being able to hug my friends and people I care about. Q2. What are you looking forward to most? Being able to roam more freely, not worry so much about my mum, and Samuel going back to school! Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? I like the slower pace and greater sense of community. The greater sense of global community online but also the increasing sense of village life close to home in our street and suburb. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

05.01.2022 Glyn, Jetty & Kate... #willowvale Q1. What are you missing?... The touch of those I love. Q2. What are you most looking forward to? Watching small businesses bounce back hard and fast Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? I was surprised by my level of anxiety during the first few weeks, primarily for my family. Even though the risk to them was probably low, I think it was heightened due to the separation......the feeling of having no control to help if I needed was very frightening. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography @portraitsinisolation @kateedis

05.01.2022 Michael & Deb... #terara Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging? ... What we miss and what has been the most challenging are the same. The freedom to spend time with family and the freedom to come and go as we please. Being Victorians and having moved during the Covid 19 pandemic we have also found fear driven misconceptions and feeling peoples suspicions challenging. ie/ driving a Victorian registered vehicle we felt conspicuous and discerned a need to be cautious. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? Were looking foward to the fear and sense of uncertainty lifting like a fog lifting as restrictions are lifted. Were also looking foward to new ways of living and a return to the appreciation of the simple things and respect for life that seems to have been lost over the years because of affluence and its instant mentality. We are relearning to value whats really important, the things money has no power to purchase ! Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? Weve found that humanity has an innate ability to respond to neccesity, make significant life adjustments and learn better ways of living when compelled by circumstances beyond our control, if we are willing to apply our minds and think outside the box. We have discovered new levels of freedom and are better for the experience. However we havent had to suffer the loss of life as others have. Its all relative, others have been left reeling because of great tradgedies during this Covid 19 pandemic #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

05.01.2022 Morgan, Trish & Ted the dog... #kiamaheights Q1. What do you miss? ... Swimming in the rock-pool every morning, coffee with friends and especially baked dinner every Wednesday with all the family!! Q2. What are you looking to? Im looking forward to all of the above resuming again! Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? What has been interesting is how weve all just adapted to the restrictions, how weve replaced State rivalry in things like cricket and footy into BEATING them at getting less cases every day. Its been amazing to see how unified weve been as a country in putting health before economics. Well done us!! #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

04.01.2022 Manuel, Bella, Daniel & Dylan... #turramurra Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging? ... I miss working out in the gym and keeping a steady excercise routine has been the most challenging for me. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? Going back to my routine workout and business picking up. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? How important it is to have constraint and to formulate good and sustainable habits. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

I havent really felt like I have been in isolation that much as I have had to continue to go to work the whole time. The most challenging has been not having the kids in a routine with school/TAFE. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? My kids going back to a normal routine. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? I have enjoyed my own company and have saved money as I have not been going out and spending. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

03.01.2022 Rafi, Beck & Colleen... #kiama Q1. What do you miss most while being in self isolation?... Catching up with friends. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? Heading away for a weekend. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? That i have enjoyed it more than found it challenging. We need so little to enjoy our day to day. That living in a healthy open environment, with the joys of nature close by, makes everyday so defining. How lucky are we to live where we live! #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation Rebecca

02.01.2022 Jamie & Laura... #kangaroovalley Q1. What do you miss while being in self isolation, and what has been most challenging? ... We miss most the open road. Our journey started in Feb 2020, and we had planned to spend this year completing a lap of Australia in our bus; exploring, travelling the country and experiencing everything each state has to offer. When we started, we immediately met many interesting and lovely people who had shared with us stories of their hardships and experiences around the fires and floods. Part of our travel plan was to lend a hand where possible to these people within these communities. To offer help, to rebuild and support local business as we passed through. What has been the most challenging is losing time. We have sacrificed, saved, struggled and committed years of our lives to be able to travel; to be able to explore this great country and find to a piece which we would hopefully call home and raise a family. As we have saved to be self sufficient monetarily for a year, we are not feeling the financial impact as much as most, if only in a different way. The isolation impacts us in the fact we are spending without being able to move towards our goals. Q2. What are you looking forward to after self isolation? We are looking forward to rediscovering and also redirecting our travel plans. We had planned and begun travelling counter-clockwise around the continent. however, we now plan on travelling through the centre to Darwin and catching up with the seasons as the restrictions lift. We mostly look forward to fulfilling our plans, to seeing the heart of the country, to seeing the galaxy, and to continuing what we have planned to be a journey of a lifetime. Q3. What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? Well, the most interesting thing we have realised is that we were surprisingly ready for it! We had planned to be together, to be remote - or away from large population centres - and completely self sufficient whilst travelling. We find it ironic that we had begun a great journey and then ended up returning back to our point of origin in Kangaroo Valley within just a few months. However, we also find a happiness in being back with family, and feel very lucky to have a safe place to return to in a time of need and uncertainty. And appreciate that others are less fortunate than us in that regard. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation

What have you found interesting about your response to this time of self isolation? As our lives are being paused by the Covid 19, we have more time to think about what is the most important things and people in our lives, we learn to cherish the people we love in the things what we have right now, we also learnt to appreciate the small things we used to overlook such as the beautiful trees in the melody of birds singing. #portraitsinisolation #southcoastphotographer #covid19 #isoportraits #peterizzardphotography #massisolationaus #massisolationformat @portraitsinisolation
