The Liberal Democrats have a plan to help ease the cost of living by eliminating the secret tax on your electricity bill, known as the Tariff Equalisation Contribution. Scrapping this nasty hidden fee will save households up to $150 per year and make electricity bills in the South West more cost reflective.... The creation of Special Economic Zones for places like Albany, to encourage more investment and people to migrate. The deregulation of trading hours so that businesses can open and close based on the needs and wants of the community The repeal of the payroll tax so that businesses can hire young people who are struggling to find work. Mal Dodson - Liberal Democrat for Albany and I are committed to giving regional areas like Albany the representation they need in our Parliament. 10.01.2022 The Liberal Democrats are the ONLY party offering some flexibility on WA border closures. As outlined in yesterday's The Australian, all the other parties are p...arroting the Labor Party on this. As our leader, Aaron Stonehouse (pictured) said, the current arrangements mean that We have a situation where the opposition party is too afraid to say anything or do anything, and we’ve got people losing their jobs, their livelihoods, we are staring down the barrel of a mental health crisis. The idea is to focus on restricting movement from declared "hotspots" rather than shutting out an entire state. This is similar to Queensland's effective arrangements. If you want a REAL choice about a sensible softening of our border arrangements instead or Mr McGowan's strongman rhetoric, look for Dr Peter McLoughlin, the Liberal Democrat on the ballot paper.
09.01.2022 We all know someone who's lost their job, has less hours, or has had to close their business, as a result of COVID-19 border restrictions. I believe we can keep... ourselves safe, while at the same time not sacrificing the livelihoods of thousands of Western Australians. The first step towards this is being honest and open about the real impact of McGowan's policies are having on ordinary people and businesses.
