20.01.2022 ....and if 2020 wasn’t already a nightmare....today....the day after we lost our Daisy....the heavens opened for our Willow. It was her time,, but we weren’t yet ready. In the coming days I will compile a photo celebration of our wonderful old girl....my first Labrador, my first furry child, the dog that raised my children with me, the dog they don’t remember life without, our girl, right now our hearts are shattered more than we believed they could.

18.01.2022 FEARLESS: The bracelet that I’ve worn on my right arm for years was removed from my wrist 6 weeks ago after being badly bitten multiple times by a dog at work. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a terrible patient, so the resulting hospitalization, treatments, procedures etc were so so difficult for me. The pain, the infection, the restriction, the vulnerability, the trauma, the frustration, the loss of the use of my right hand all brought me to a grinding halt. Not easy for... a single, seriously-busy Mum who already has too many balls to juggle, too many mouths to feed, too many others to take care of. Not easy for a stubborn, independent person who can’t ask for help and who will always hide the pain and try to push through no matter how much it hurts. Not easy for ME!! While I resented being forced into resting and recovering, I did have time to reset and discover me again. Thank you to the few in my very small inner circle who stuck by me and checked on me. Hopefully I will be cleared to head back to the job that I love next week. While I can’t yet wear my FEARLESS bracelet as I’m still in a splint....I’m wearing new scars that remind me of who and what I am. See more

08.01.2022 Her last walk. So carefree. Crazy how this enthusiasm for life; this energy can end so quickly. I won’t catch up for a while.

08.01.2022 Never could I have anticipated having to write this post...not for years to come...not today....but here I am. Our Daisy, our Crazy Daisy, our Cray Cray....our beautiful 6 year old girl tragically has crossed over the rainbow bridge. Daisy’s favourite activities were walking, running, swimming, bossing the other dogs around, eating all the cow poop she could find (as quickly as she could), rolling in anything smelly, alerting us to someone approaching the door, snuggling, bei...ng told she was a good girl, eating, thinking about food, reminding us she needed more food , tummy rubs, and raising her babies......Daisy loved her babies!!! She was THE BEST mother, the most attentive Carer and we all valued and marveled at the beautiful, proud way she raised her puppies. She did everything with enthusiasm, cleared a table with her tail, ate her meals in three seconds flat, tried her hardest to please and wanted so badly to be the best girl. She should have been with us until she was old and grey but she lived and loved hard and completed life in fast forward....so typically Daisy! Run laps of heaven girl....I know you’re in good company up there. I will think of you every time I take a walk....forever xxx
