24.01.2022 Press conference from Canberra.

24.01.2022 Western Australia has recorded the slowest economic growth of every state other than Victoria - which was in lockdown for months! According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, the latest statistics show other states are recovering at a much faster rate than WA and only Victoria has recorded a weaker growth outcome than WA. WA's economic recovery is slowing under Labor. We need a smarter, better economic plan that will help businesses grow and create more secure, full-time jobs, so Western Australians have a brighter future to look forward to.

21.01.2022 Did you know, WA is the only State where power bills aren't getting cheaper! The Liberals Plan for Cheaper Power Bills is all about giving you choice, which creates competition and drives down prices. Choice makes bills more affordable because providers have to compete for your business, just like they do with gas.... Less wasted on bills = more to spend on the important things, like holidays, christmas and just getting ahead. Importantly, there will be absolutely no sale of Synergy, Western Power or Horizon Power. They will remain in public hands. Find out more https://www.waliberal.org.au/state-news/cheaper-bills/

20.01.2022 Brett Raponi - Liberal for Landsdale is fighting to bring down water, electricity and household bills because his community is telling him they are struggling to get ahead. Brett and new WA Liberal Leader Zak Kirkup MP listening to locals in Alexander Heights, Darch, Hocking, Landsdale, Madeley, Pearsall and Wangara today. If you see them, make sure you catch-up for a chat, so you can tell them what’s important to you.

19.01.2022 Since becoming the Liberal candidate for Riverton, I have made fighting for local schools my number one focus. It is clear that Rossmoyne Senior High School is ...facing a number of serious challenges in coming years as a result of increasing enrolments. A Harvey Liberal Government will provide state-of-the-art facilities for Rossmoyne SHS. Rossmoyne is renowned nationally for its academic excellence, and these upgrades will allow students to have the modern facilities they deserve so they can continue to achieve. This investment will also create jobs, providing a major boost to the local economy in Riverton. Under the Liberals local suppliers will be given preferential consideration on all State Government contracts.

18.01.2022 As seen in the West Australian, Zak Kirkup MP and the Liberals are listening to as many Western Australians as possible about the issue that are important to them. Together, we are working for a safer, smarter today, so Western Australians have a brighter and better tomorrow.

17.01.2022 As the weather gets warmer, young families are flocking to their local playgrounds to spend time with their kids. New WA Liberal Leader Zak Kirkup MP and Nicole Robins - Liberal for Bicton caught up with some local mums and bubs at Three Bears Park in Bicton to talk about how things are going. Reducing household bills is an absolute priority for Nicole and the WA Liberal team, so that mums and dads can spend less time worrying about the next electricity and water bill and more time enjoying life, family and just getting ahead.

17.01.2022 Update to our State border arrangements: Based on updated Chief Health Officer advice, Victoria and New South Wales will be classified as 'very low risk' states from 12.01am, Tuesday, December 8. As a result, WA's interstate border will be adjusted, with travel from Victoria and New South Wales to be permitted into WA with the following conditions: ... - all Perth Airport arrivals to undergo a health screening and temperature test on arrival - travellers to be prepared to take a COVID-19 test at the airport COVID clinic, if deemed necessary by a health clinician (voluntary asymptomatic testing available for all airport arrivals) - completion of a G2G Pass declaration, stipulating they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms and which jurisdictions the traveller has been in over the previous 14 days - all travellers to receive a SMS health check reminder one week into their stay in WA - all land arrivals to be met at the border checkpoint, for a health screening and to have their G2G Pass declaration checked. Other jurisdictions currently in the ‘very low risk’ category include the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Northern Territory and Tasmania. South Australia will remain classified as a ‘medium risk’ jurisdiction. This classification will be reviewed again by December 11. Travel from South Australia remains prohibited unless travellers meet strict exemption criteria. Exempt travellers must also self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Western Australia.

15.01.2022 Back to where it all began. Zak Kirkup MP caught up with his Mum at the Forrestfield pharmacy yesterday, while meeting local small businesses with George Tilbury - Liberal for Forrestfield. George is one of our many local candidates who will be the strong voice their local community needs.

15.01.2022 In 1918, at the 11th hour, of the 11th day of the 11th month, the guns on the Western Front fell silent. Remembrance Day honours those who have served, those wh...o continue to serve, and those who sacrificed their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. I was honoured to lay a wreath at the RSL - City of Cockburn Sub-Branch commemorative service, alongside other proud veterans, members of the Australian Defence Force and local government representatives. Lest We Forget.

15.01.2022 Australia’s researchers really are amongst the best in the world. The University of Queensland’s #COVID19 vaccine is on track and progressing well. This means ...it could be available to Australians next year, but that’s only if it proves safe and effective and gets the green light from our medical experts and signed off by the country’s safety regulator. This is one of four vaccines that form part of our $3.2 billion #COVID19 vaccine strategy. Our national goal is to ensure that all Australians who want to be vaccinated are by the end of 2021. 7NEWS

14.01.2022 Victims of family and domestic violence face pain and suffering that most of us cannot even imagine. Zak Kirkup MP, Libby Mettam and the Liberals are committed to keeping every Western Australian safe from harm and will invest $3 million to pilot a specialised Domestic Violence Forensic Unit. Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing Chair Margaret MacDonald and Acting CEO Kedy Kristol joined our team for this important announcement.... This program will help victims with a 24/7 integrated crisis counselling, domestic violence specialist services, women’s health services, medical, police and forensic response for victims of family and domestic violence. Providing forensic services alongside the medical response and by the same clinician will help minimise the potential for re-traumatisation while collecting forensic evidence to support investigation and prosecution. Family and domestic violence breaks all of our hearts and it should drive us as representatives to do every single thing we can to help victims who feel they are beyond help and to empower them to seek assistance and care, and receive the support they deserve. Don’t believe the scare campaign and spin the arrangement will remain. Full article here: https://thewest.com.au//prime-minister-scott-morrison-tell

01.01.2022 Zak Kirkup MP put it perfectly. High Wycombe is the place where trucks get moving - just ask George Tilbury - Liberal for Forrestfield, his campaign to fight for local jobs and small businesses is moving fast! Local small businesses are the heart of so many communities across Western Australia, including High Wycombe. They create local jobs and allow families to work and raise their family in the local community.
