02.01.2022 When I decided to stand as a council nominee I didn’t really know what to expect. What has blown my mind is the absolutely overwhelming support I’ve received from friends and most of all, total strangers. From the elderly lady at Dunluce who has driven all around Dunluce, Archedale Junction, Mt Hooghly, Natte, Moliagul and Goldsborough delivering a 100 of my flyers to all the rural mailboxes; to the couple from Paddy’s Ranges who offered me a window out of the blue in their H...igh St shop in Maryborough to put one of my coreflute signs up because We like what you stand for!; offers of helping me letterbox in Dunolly and Havelock; all the people that have let me attach my signs to their property fences; the people that have spoken to me at my listening posts full of encouragement and support; my friend who took my campaign photos; the two fellas who generously purchased some more signs for me when my budget was depleted; the many, many phone calls from people saying they are so happy that I’ve nominated to be their Flynn Ward councillor; the ladies at The Welcome Record for posting my article, letter to the editor and listening post notifications. 01.01.2022 I am saddened and disappointed to read that the ‘Political Mudslinging’ has started. My opponent, Marion Da Costa, has placed a letter in Dunolly’s The Welcome Record (TWR) yesterday that is downright untrue. Ms Da Costa refers to a letter written by me to the Maryborough Advertiser, that unbeknownst to her, I also wrote to TWR and you can read for yourself on the left. In it, I mention that our previous council was sacked in 2016 by the state government of Victoria and why t...his happened. This is a true fact and I urge anyone, Ms Da Costa included, to prove me wrong. I then proceed to urge the community to consider the terrific cohort of fresh, highly competent new leaders that have put their hand up and have nominated for council. I am not sure where I actually mentioned, or show any disregard to any former councillors, Bob Henderson (who I myself voted for in the 2013 Flynn by-election and 2016 election) included.
