23.01.2022 Remember......Exercise is good for your mental health. Take a walk outside, practice social distancing and appreciate nature. Look up, look down and look around. Take a photo each time you walk to document what you appreciate. Here at Life Frame we appreciate the colours of the sky.....

22.01.2022 A good post from mellow doodles reminding us how to communicate our boundaries simply. Remembering to use a calm voice and communicate respectfully......

20.01.2022 This month is Social September where we are encouraged to stay connected to each other or reconnect to ourselves for our mental health. This can be quite hard in our current situation, so what can we do? Try some of these ideas: * Send a care package to someone * Phone, email, Face time, connect on a media platform, write a letter/send a card. * Connect with others on a virtual event. * Start a virtual Book club... * Join a support group When you are feeling overwhelmed and need to switch off ..... * Take time out from technology and sit outside * Read a magazine * Take a relaxing bath * Do some exercise Brainstorm some more ideas that have worked for you......

18.01.2022 Life Frame Counselling has been participating in and encouraging those with Mental Health lived experience to be a part of Recovered Futures Exhibitions. As a result of COVID this year the exhibition has been cancelled. If you are in Brisbane or can get to Brisbane, you may want to treat yourself by attending these extremely affordable workshops.

18.01.2022 This week is Men's Health Week. It is an important opportunity to highlight men's health and what it means to be healthy. What steps can you take today to improve your overall health or help another to take the initiative?

17.01.2022 MINDFUL SOURDOUGH.... A friend recently gifted me with a Sourdough Breadmaking Day. It turned out to be one of the most uplifting days I have had this year. This is what I learnt when making Sourdough...... ... * It forces you to SLOW DOWN and appreciate the Here and Now. * Folding dough gently and slowly is very soothing. * No 2 loaves are the same and none are perfect and that's OK. * Often mistakes are made in the making but you still end up with a loaf. You learn from every mistake - which is a good thing :) * It feels good making something nourishing. * The smell of baking bread lifts the soul. * Eating the bread somehow makes you feel more connected to the earth and peps up those 'Happy Hormones'. What do you make or do that keeps you centered in this busy, unpredictable world?

16.01.2022 According to the news , today is International switch off your phone day. The challenge is to put your phone away for 4 hours and not look at it during that time. Nomophobia (the irrational fear of losing or not having access to one's mobile phone) is a real condition and is currently being explored as to whether it should be added to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Attachment to a mobile phone has been known to not only affect one emotionally but impacts on relationships as well. Will you accept the challenge today? How do you think you will go? 14.01.2022 Christmas can be a time of joy but it can also be a time of sadness for many people. For many varied reasons it can be one of the hardest times of the year. Please be aware of those around you who may be feeling this way and offer support. You don't have to be a professional to listen or show kindness. Over the next few days we will be posting some tips to help you through this holiday period.......

10.01.2022 Christmas can also be a very expensive time of the year. People can feel under pressure to buy gifts, attend parties and spend more money than they can afford. Here is our second tip....

06.01.2022 One of the great things about working alongside children is witnessing their imagination. This Hero Cape began as a young person's concept - visualizing, sketching it then planning and drawing up the pattern. During this time we were able to discuss Problem Solving, Realistic Expectations , Trust and Empathy.

06.01.2022 Worth a look for families......

05.01.2022 This video clip recently came up in my feed. Although this is an Ad I thought what a good opportunity this Ad is to use with your children when teaching about empathy. Things you can talk about: * What do you think the story is about the boy in the wheelchair - had he always been in the neighborhood or is he new? How do you know? * How was the boy in the wheelchair feeling? What are your clues? - look at his facial expression and look at his body language. * What do you th...ink the boy holding the basketball was thinking or feeling when you look at his body language and his facial expression? * What did the children do that showed they were trying to understand how the boy in the wheelchair felt? * How did they try to include the boy in the wheelchair? * Who can you include today in your play? There is much more you could discuss, this is just a start. As someone once said, EMPATHY is seeing with the eyes of another listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another..... See more
