25.01.2022 You may be surprised to find out what strangers can see on your Facebook page. This is how you can check... (Logging out and checking is not enough). Click on the padlock icon - top right of the Facebook website. Then click on "Who can see my Stuff". You can then view your Facebook profile as somebody else. While you are at it - click on "Privacy Check-up" and check your settings.

25.01.2022 When using photos for your business website, Social Media or blog - don't risk getting sued! Just because a picture is on the web, doesn't mean it is free to use. If it is for your business - strictly only use your own artwork/photos or buy the image royalty free. Take this example - a Webcopyplus client had to pay lawyers $4000 for a picture that they could have bought for $10. Ouch! Kudos to Webcopyplus for making their experiences public.... If you need to know more, drop us a line below...

22.01.2022 Did you know that there is a hidden lake just west of Armadale? Its Forrestdale Lake - and it has an abundance of Bird life and insect life. Check out the Friends of Forrestdale webpage - and take a look at the Newsletters. Bryony Fremlin has created some extraordinary publications and pictures of our local beetles, birds, bats, bees and flowers around Forrestdale Lake.

22.01.2022 The Parting Glass is an old 400 year Scottish song, sung here by young Michael (of 15 years). It was written before Robbie Burns penned the famous Auld Lang Syne. Over the last 3 months we've been running a Youth Mentoring Program fridays after school with the help of a few friends. We called it the Torchlight "Celtic Club". It was designed to boost self esteem, manage anxiety - but most importantly to have some fun! We worked on some songs, sung with professional musicians, built a recording studio and made our own music videos. The students particpating in this youth mentoring project are from ages 12-15 years. This is their first experience performing with digital media.

16.01.2022 We successfully fought off a DOS attack on the server this week. Must have taken close to a million hits in one day. We've been noticing the server load increasing suspiciously, and our page response times were lagging. Other than sluggish pages, there has not been any damage or security breaches. These guys were just firing from the outside. Fighting hackers is a regular ongoing battle. So, this time we thought we would share what is going on behind the scenes to keep those... websites up. We also have had two new customers reach us this week. Their old websites from other Hosts had been hacked and brought down. It just goes to show that businesses today need both secure Webdesign and Hosting. Hackers are rife on the internet. We get around 50 hackers (or their bots) trying something each day - looking for easy targets. Don't let it be your business!

10.01.2022 Australians that have illegally downloaded the 2013 Movie "Dallas Buyers Club" could be in trouble. Australian internet providers (iiNet, Dodo, etc) are going to hand over their customer contact details to the movie bosses for further action. This is an outcome of a Federal court ruling. Its a landmark case that marks the end of the internet privacy "sanctuary" for Australians. On the upside, with Google Play, iTunes, Netflix and Stan services, we can now buy legitimate movie...s and TV shows at lower costs. The downside is that the privacy of these Australians has been compromised without their day in court. http://www.abc.net.au//dallas-buyers-club-isps-mus/6375358
