25.01.2022 awarded images at the Bunbury Photography Group for 2020

25.01.2022 I was very pleased with my 2 gold awards at the Photography Group of Bunbury last night for the "Fungi" and "Current events" topics. I just thought I would show you here what a little editing can do to lift an image from not much to something much more. so below is before and after.

23.01.2022 stunning work from Merry Robertson in Albany.

22.01.2022 I had my first go at making paper today. And since I've never made paper before, or even seen it demonstrated, other than on YouTube, and learning from reading the notes that came with the kit, I was pretty happy with the results. Still lots to learn obviously. Getting that paper off the screen is tricky! Thankyou to my hubbie who bought me the kit for Christmas from https://www.borninpaper.com.au/blog

21.01.2022 Sometimes it feels like a wrench to let something go - but when someone picks out one of your art works to buy, it really is a lovely feeling to think they liked it enough to buy it. I felt like this on Saturday when this botanical eco-print autumn leaves print was sold at the Bunbury Market. All eco-prints are absolutely one-off and unique, so there will never be another one like it.

21.01.2022 We've been away for a couple of weeks catching some warm sun further north, and have come home to a crashed computer. Slowly getting it all sorted and back up and running. A lesson for everyone - backup, backup! Anyway of course there were wildflowers while we were away so here a just a few for now from Kalbarri. More later.

17.01.2022 Thankyou so much to my wonderful hosts in Banksia Street, and to everyone who came, looked, chatted to me, and purchased. I enjoyed welcoming you to my space for this years Tree Street Art Safari. So incredibly grateful to all my supporters. Thank you for liking what I do. Special thankyou to my ever-supportive husband for carting my gear, helping me set up, manning my space with me, and handling the credit-card purchases. What would I do without him? I've spent the day stock-taking and repacking. Only 3 upcycled eco-printed tops left, and a number of eco-printed scarves sold, so now to get printing again in time for the Dardanup Art Trail in May.

05.01.2022 We have just returned from a few days at Mt Trio bush camp & caravan park adjacent to the Stirling Ranges National Park. It was devastating to see the huge area of burnt ground - basically bare earth with black sticks. Some plants have started to shoot but many have not. More than 40,000 hectares of land was burnt, which contained critically endangered species. The Stirling Ranges National Park is a biodiversity hotspot containing more than 1,500 species of flora, at least 87 of which are found nowhere else in the world. Conservationists say it could take centuries to recover. Amongst the burnt ground we found this brilliantly flowering Banksia coccinea - scarlet banksia. Please read more about the affect of the bush fires here - https://www.abc.net.au//bushfires-cause-stirling-/11844516
