22.01.2022 Exciting news. Online pain program soon to be available for patients, as well as online training for psychologists with current board registration. Lets take this Australia wide and finally get help to the people who need it most.

22.01.2022 This mornings rabbit hole: plain English splainin of reliability testing, kappa scores, etc. Whee, stats! I have this article that gives examples unreliable t...esting and diagnostic methods. I just beefed it up with a new section about the science of measuring reliability, some math-y background. I really busted a gut to make it easy to understand (which feels about 10x harder than actually understanding it in the first place). It starts out like this... The old school math for reliability was just a percentage of agreement. For instance, if you and I are both trying to diagnose something and we agree half the time, thats 50% agreement. But this isnt really a fancy enough way to measure, because it doesnt account for things like guessing, luck, or bias. What if we agree only because were both imagining the same bullshit? This stuff is tricky! Theres about 4-5 more paragraphs like that. I bet I just made your day, huh? ~ Paul Ingraham, PainScience.com

20.01.2022 Can you turn off chronic pain? Dr Koninck, Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience says yes. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/next/body/chronic-pain/

19.01.2022 I've just uploaded a webinar for psychologists on the MDR approach to chronic pain. Please share with any health professionals who work with chronic pain clients. It's 28 minutes and I've made it view any time, with availability to ask questions or make comments on the page. It’s at https://www.mdrtherapy.org/mdr-webinar-for-psychologists/

18.01.2022 Sounds about right, considering the majority of positive acupuncture studies originate from the far east.

17.01.2022 Weve known for a long time that current treatments for chronic pain fail for most people. Heres more evidence that we need to move to the F2 approach.

17.01.2022 Ibuprofen and other NSAIDs work no better than a placebo for back pain, according to Australian researchers.

16.01.2022 Seems like some pretty silly knee-jerk reactions from legislators.

08.01.2022 Love Kahlos work, and Fridas, in Melbourne, is definitely my favourite bar :-)

08.01.2022 Current treatments for chronic pain are no better than placebo. Well and truly time for a new approach.

07.01.2022 A lot of people with chronic pain will be helped by this.

06.01.2022 Perth researchers follow two very different paths in chronic pain treatment. One of them has been given a $million to spend, and is wasting it on acupuncture which has already proven to be no better than placebo. Pretty shocking. https://www.businessnews.com.au//Researchers-target-evolut

05.01.2022 Possible pharmaceutical advance, but nevertheless most interesting for future treatment.

05.01.2022 Yes, your chronic pain is probably in your head, but before you go all full metal jacket on me, when I say all in your head, I DO NOT MEAN that in the way you might have been told by your doctor, specialist, or psychologist. Some of them are right up to date with the latest research, but most of them right now are blaming you and your attitude for your pain! Well no more! https://www.lifeworkspainclinic.com/your-low-back-pain-or-/

02.01.2022 Spinal manipulation for back or neck pain shown to be ineffective, except in horrendously flawed studies which should never have been published, let alone cited.
