23.01.2022 Why do we meditate? Meditation is a great tool to help reduce stress and anxiety, to train your mind to concentrate on one task at a time, focus on the present moment, and give a break to the monkey thoughts endlessly jumping from one topic to another from the moment you open your eyes and until your go back to sleep. But meditation has so many other wonderful benefits! Research has shown that it can: improve your memory ... lower blood pressure improve your connection with your inner-self, your intuition increase imagination and creativity promote emotional health help deal with pain improve your sleep cycle increase your sense of gratitude help reduce stress and anxiety Apparently, it takes 21 days for us to form a habit, but it takes around 8 weeks of daily effort to change brain’s grey matter. This means that by making meditation your daily practice, not only are you creating a healthy habit, but you are also changing your brain on a neurological level And what a good time to start! Here are some Self-Love tools to get you inspired Get on your mat, move your body, flow it out or do some Yin or Restorative Don’t hold on to your past experiences, let go by journaling or talking to a friend Avoid criticising yourself. What would happen if you started approving of yourself and supporting yourself instead? ... Use meditation as a means to reconnect with yourself and your intuition Go on a date with yourself once a week, it can be a quiet breakfast out, a spa afternoon, a body care night at home, or reading your favorite book with a cup of coffee, in other words: treat yourself Learn to say no when you mean it. Put your well-being high up on your priority list. Learn something new, do that thing you always wanted to try, take risks, play with the beginners mind, have fun, and enjoy the process. She was wonderful at filming and teaching dynamic & fluid classes throughout the isolation period in our Online Studio, and now you can catch her in-person at our Balwyn, Mitcham and Ivnahoe our studios. Yay! PLUS her Tuesday morning classes at Ivanhoe are also live streamed so that you can enjoy and practice in the comfort of you own home ... I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys, no they are not babies but will always be my babies. I love raw food. I eat avocado with wasabi and soy sauce. I have green leaves addiction. Bookings for our entire opening week are now open Here’s how to get back on your mat: Visit our website and click on ‘Book My Mat’ to go to our MindBody website... OR download the MindBody app on your phone and once downloaded search for your closest ‘Light Space‘ studio in either Balwyn, Mitcham or Ivanhoe Login with the same email address that you used when you first visited or made a purchase with us. If you’ve forgotten your password simply click on ‘Need New Password’ If you are brand new to Light Space Yoga you can create a new profile which you will use to book your mat Bookings will continue to open 7 days in advance If a class is full it is a great idea to join the waitlist as there maybe a cancellation and you will be notified via email if a spot becomes available (make sure to check your email junk/spam/clutter folders If you are unable to attend please cancel within 4 hours of the class start time via MindBody so that your place can be made available to a fellow yogi.
