16.01.2022 This weekend I've been busy making seed batchs for creamed honey. Looks good and will be ready soon for winter creamed honey making.

14.01.2022 A large hive we rehomed into a brood box for the owners.

12.01.2022 We sold all our Red Gum Pure Raw Honey at a market a couple of weeks ago. We now have more available. $15 for a 1 kg tub. Can deliver. Absolutely beautiful taste. No additives and not heated.

12.01.2022 A few weeks ago, The Beekeepers Coalition of Australia was the first to announce that Coles supermarkets had decided to only stock 100% Australian honey, with t...he exception of some antibacterial grade Manuka from New Zealand. At the time, we also indicated our concern over the decrease in value that occurs when we see 100% Australian honey in a discounted supermarket private label brand, and what pressure this would place on the wholesale price of Australian honey in the commercial sector. While we still applaud Coles on their decision to provide further support to the Australian agricultural sector and Australian beekeeping we hope that the recent price drop seen across Coles supermarkets will be wholly adsorbed by Coles and that this price reduction is not passed on to Australian packers. If we review the price of Coles brand Australian honey on supermarket shelves we can see that this price per kg is comparable to imported honey blends. If this price drop is pushed back on to packers we will see strong downward pressure placed upon the wholesale price beekeepers receive, as we have done in the past (currently this is around $4.80 with some beekeepers being offered as low as $3.50 by one packer). The best way for the consumer to support a fair price for Australian beekeepers is to buy name brands such as Capilano Honey and Beechworth Honey or direct from Australian Commercial Beekeepers. Some commercial beekeepers who sell direct to the public are listed below: Honey Providore Surfcoast Honey Mt. Coramba Apiculture AmberHill Honey F & M Beekeepers / Moggill Honey Granite Belt Honey Phillip Island Honey The Bunyip Beekeeper Bee2U Goldfields Honey Australia PL Costa Honey JCR Honey - Gold Coast Ian's Raw Honey and Bee Supplies The Urban Beehive Unspun Honey Apiaries 8 Queen of Hearts Honey Rose Herbs and Honey Bellmere Honey Billabong Honeybee Bee Australian Castlecrag Honey The Basin Backyard Lind's Honey And many others still to be featured in our Buzz About Australian Beekeepers

07.01.2022 Our bees are busy. They have been on canola, cape weed and clover. The red gum is about to flower so should be a good season. Last year was poor and honey is likely to be more expensive because of the drought and fires.

05.01.2022 We rescued an 8 year old hive. Untouched for years on a shed roof.

05.01.2022 Good to see our bees are breeding well after winter. More honey soon.

04.01.2022 We will have a stall at Smythesdale market on Saturday the 21st December.

02.01.2022 Flowering Red Gum. Our bees are loving it. Only flowers every two years. Honey for sale.
