23.01.2022 Business foundations. Wow do I have to push myself hard to maintain my business foundations. Updating my business plan, Invoicing, logging expenses; really important tasks that my brain just does not enjoy. As creatives we are prone to just spend time on the fun stuff, the making, being with people and focusing on the next idea. We’re good at ideas. Three things I have found to make a difference; Admit that its my weakness and because of this acknowledge that I ...need a dedicated time each week just to focus on the business foundations. No excuses, no interruptions, no moving diary appointments to make way for anyone. A quiet, non-stimulating environment is what it takes for me. This is not the time to escape to the coffee shop for me. An amazing business coach who has helped me understand the way I learn and operate better. I love ideas so much that that distract me from the current priorities if I’m not focused and intent on moving to action (it’s a muscle that I’m learning to flex more often) Tools to make the business foundations as easy as possible for me. I use Quickbooks for my accounting and now use a more visual business tool for my business planning . It allows me to see the flow of my decisions easily and how they impact and interact with each other. Anyone else have to work as hard as I do to get the less fun stuff done each week? See more

Only those who have started their own thing understand the courage it takes to step into the limelight and waaaay outside the safe grounds known as comfort zones. There are some seriously affordable and informative workshops on offer for those on the Mornington Peninsula with the local council over the next few weeks. June 4th is 'Keeping the right staff: how to employ good people' and June 11th is 'Advanced Marketing: How to make your strategy work smarter'. 09.01.2022 Here's a pic of me (Ebony) from a month ago having a ball! Our friends had the most colourful and fun wedding you could imagine complete with ball pit bathtub. This photo makes me laugh as I am constantly feeling like there are SO MANY balls in the air! 09.01.2022 How do you create mental space for you in your business? How do you avoid burn out? My go to is yoga. This is one of my favourite places @hothutyoga in Red Hill and I am craving a few structured classes this week. My morning routine includes a bit of yoga at home each day but sometimes I need more than that. There’s something special about being guided through a class, where your only task is to breath and to enjoy just that moment in time. I’d love to hear how you create space and time for you away from the work and demands of business. @hothutyoga

08.01.2022 Oh my! These two cards from our New Business Milestone Kit . Now if you haven't felt these emotions before whilst starting your dream business then hats off to you! So often we get super deep into working in our business and pushing through hurdles everyday, trying to keep all the wheels in motion that our social lives take a hit. This card acknowledges this common pitfall, but also serves as a reminder to make time for yourself and nurturing important relationships. It can be easy to get caught up with the grey card sentiment of "living my passions fearlessly" (which is awesome and brings results), but balance is the key.
