04.01.2022 To extend on our butterfly interest the children were involved with a "Hungry caterpillar" provocation. They made a sustainable cocoon by covering an unused shoebox with hessian. They studied books on butterflies and asked many questions. They then recreated the story using felt symbols on a felt board. They also fed the caterpillar (again sustainability) using a pringles container. We will extend on this activity by making clay caterpillars.
