25.01.2022 Our Mini Bash U10 side had a tie vs Healesville on Friday night. We bowled first, and James took an incredible 7/6 off 4 overs and Jarrah with 2 wickets. Our batting was very even with all contributing, Elsie and Jarrah were our only not out batters, and Emma scoring the runs to tie in the final over.
25.01.2022 Some good news! Obviously still subject to change, but moving in the right direction.
25.01.2022 Our U10 side had a "win" by 37 runs on Friday night vs Launching Place. Outstanding performances from James (24), Jake (17) and Ashton (16), as well as James with 2/7 from 3 overs.
25.01.2022 JUNIOR REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN Some good news from the RDCA overnight - a potential return to junior training on October 26 and return to games on November 13 (pending the roadmap for case numbers is met in the coming weeks). We have already seen a steady flow of junior registrations and encourage you to register your child online today. This is a very quick online process at www.playcricket.com.au. Our club fees are $100 per player for the season, plus there is a $5 admin...istration/insurance fee from Cricket Victoria. For those whose children participated in Blasters last season, and are getting toward the age where they can start in U10's, please let me know if your child would like to move into U10, or whether they would like to continue in Blasters - we have several in this category, that have, or will be turning, 8 this year and might like to take this step. For anyone that is concerned about registering whilst we are in lock down, we have had several discussions with Cricket Victoria and the RDCA, and at this point in time we are confident that cricket will go ahead in due course, although it will be different to any other season. We will send out communication soon with further details on what this looks like, and also what assistance the club will be looking for. We are also providing an incentive to anyone that would like to volunteer for the upcoming season, whether that is as a coach or team manager - for anyone filling these roles, a full refund will be offered on their child's playing fees. Likewise, we are also offering a full refund on a child’s playing fees for anyone referring a new player to the club. To this end, I have attached a flyer which outlines our club's details - I encourage everyone to share this far and wide, including within your school parent groups and other social media circles. Please feel free to contact me, whether by phone (number below), email, or SMS, if you have any concerns or questions regarding this season. 19.01.2022 Tough week for most of our junior teams - especially the U16's, who were desperately unlucky to not get the win. There were some terrific individual performances, and it would be remiss of me if I didn't also mention the efforts of Jake and James in our U10 side, who both added 10 runs each in a team total of 56, and Elsie getting her first wicket. Better luck next week...Go Dales #soaringcenturiestogether
18.01.2022 GATEWAY RESERVE MASTER PLAN DEVELOPMENT Following on from the recent community consultation for the upgrade of the Gateway Reserve playspace, Yarra Ranges Council is inviting feedback to inform the development of a whole of site Master Plan for the Gateway Reserve. Gateway Reserve is highly valued for its active open space and passive use by the community, popular for walking, fitness, picnics, playspace, dog walking and other general recreation activities. It is the home ...of the Lilydale Junior Football Club and Lilydale Cricket Club. The intention is for Gateway Reserve to continue to play the role of community space for sport, recreation and outdoor leisure. Council is currently reviewing the current and future opportunities for community use of the Gateway Reserve and adjacent Lilydale Heights College grounds, through the development of a master plan for the area. We invite reserve users to help us understand how they use the reserve and school grounds, and to share their thoughts that could help shape future improvements to the area through the master planning process. Below is a link to the survey which should take about 5 minutes to complete and will close on 13 December 2020. If you could please complete the survey it will ensure the council gets an understanding of our club's requirements. yrc.vic.gov.au/gatewaysurvey For more information regarding the Gateway Reserve Master Plan Development, or to obtain a hard copy of the survey, please contact Lynn O’Donnell in Council’s Recreation and Active Living team on 1300 368 333. #SoaringCenturiesTogether

Please get on board and buy a ticket or a few for a chance to win some amazing prizes, including three brand new Toyotas! Please share this as much as yo...u can amongst your family & friends. 14.01.2022 Another mixed bag for our juniors this weekend... The U16 defended a fairly modest total against Forest Hill, with 8 separate wicket takers it was a great overall team effort. The U14-3 team looked like they were up against it after Donvale posted 140, but Birra and Braeden got us off to a great start and everyone through the batting order kept the momentum rolling and we past their total in the final over. It was a tough morning for the U14-4 team, with Hoddles Creek too str...ong. Our U12 side fell just short against Chirnside Park after they took more risks with running between wickets, but once again it was new names on the notable performances...keep up the good work boys, the results will come soon. 04.01.2022 COVID-19 Update from the RDCA Use of Cricket Nets. This morning (Tuesday 29th September) the Victorian Premier confirmed that under the Second Step in the roadmap for Metro Melbourne, cricket nets can be opened for public use.... This doesn’t mean training can start, but the community (including cricketers) can use public nets in their area (see details below). Under 2nd Step Metropolitan Melbourne No training sessions can commence. A household (or up to 5 people from 2 households) can meet outdoors for exercise or recreation for up to 2 x 1-hour sessions per day within 5km from home / work. This includes using cricket ovals and nets. People using the nets should sanitise hands before and after use, avoid sharing any personal equipment and avoid touching the nets (or communal stumps / bins etc.). Masks can be lowered or removed when actively bowling (especially pace bowling) and encouraged for use whilst batting (but lowered to under the nose if causing a dangerous visibility risk under a helmet). We still anticipate club training under the guidelines stated in the COVID -19 return to train and play plan season 20/21 will commence late October as previously stated. More updates will be at hand in the next 24-48 hours.
