16.01.2022 It’s been a busy last 3 months pushing to get the construction phase of Lily’s Getaway to completion and we are almost there! Here’s a few progress photos showing the building of this amazing house from day 0 to now.

16.01.2022 Meet Lily, the person who inspired Lily’s Getaway. She is a smart, funny, engaging, cheeky, musical, thrill seeking 6 year old girl. Lily was born with a rare chromosomal abnormality (technical name is Mosaic Monosomy Ring 21) which means she has a long list of challenges and is described by the medical community as a medically complex patient. Despite her challenges, she embraces life to its fullest and loves holidays with her parents & 4 siblings.

10.01.2022 We spent a lot of time looking for a beach property which would be our first Lily’s Getaway project. Because disability comes in all shapes, sizes and challenges, finding an already completed house that would accommodate as many of these factors proved impossible! We changed tack & found this block at Killcare and then the house design process started with a frenzy.

09.01.2022 Winter escapes to Putty Beach...

09.01.2022 Two years ago, an idea started forming about helping families living with a disabled family member attempting to take holidays. We met a family with 2 adult children with disabilities who had travelled many hours for a day trip to the beach. The adult children were both in wheelchairs so they had chosen Soldiers Beach to visit because the Surf Lifesaving Club had 2 beach wheelchairs available for use and there was a ramp down to the beach. They could not afford to stay at a wheelchair friendly hotel near the beach so they were having an extremely long round trip just to go to the beach. (Photo 1: All Terrain Wheelchairs)

09.01.2022 We Are Back! From Monday 1st June we are open just for breakfast and lunch - but you can at least sit down, relax and enjoy your coffee in a cup and food on a ...plate! There is a new "All Day Menu" accompanied with some fantastic Daily Lunch Specials as usual. We are seating 32 people inside and 28 people outside - No bookings unfortunately at the moment due to limited seating. Social distancing still applies and we would kindly ask all customers to provide contact details for a tracing/tracking record (if needed)as required by NSW Health. Hand sanitiser is available and thorough cleaning procedures will be in place. We will not unfortunately be opening for dinner at this time but will continue to offer takeaway dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Our popular daily brekkie and lunch takeaway service will also continue. I look forward to welcoming everyone back at Hardys - thanks so much to all our loyal customers for their support over the last couple of months. It is very much appreciated.
