21.01.2022 I get asked the question quite often, What did you do before you got into Bowen therapy and opening your Pilates studio? When I left school, I got a hairdressing apprenticeship at Kareen Preston hair in South Yarra. Years later I opened my own hairdressing salon in Canterbury Road Heathmont. Then when I got married and decided to start a family I sold the salon but I’ve kept hairdressing through the years.... I did a class in Body balance one day and fell in love with it, from that moment, I decided that I would go down this new career path and become an instructor. Then I tried Pilates and fell in love with that, the way it helps the body in so many ways. But I was thirsty for more. I had tried Bowen therapy and loved it, so I then became a therapist. Still thirsty for more, I am currently doing my diploma in remedial massage! So what was your first job, and what lead you to where you are currently working now? I’d love to hear your story, and try to throw in a picture if you can!



19.01.2022 Hello everyone, I am just confirming that the Limber fitness studio will be closed as of midnight tonight. I will be definitely offering classes back on zoom. Tomorrow night will be the 6 pm Pilates session and I will put a new timetable up for you over the weekend. Take care and stay safe everybody and hopefully I’ll see you on zoom!

14.01.2022 GREAT NEWS The studio will reopen on Monday, 9 November! Spaces will be limited to 10 persons per class. If you would like to reserve your place you need to book in ASAP as spaces are filling fast. I will still be running the classes via zoom for those who would prefer to stay at home, or for those that don’t get a face-to-face place.... Please note that all Covid guidelines will be adhered to, the use of facemasks is still essential. Let’s get back into a little bit of normality as soon as we can. I hope to hear from you soon. 11.01.2022 Hello Pilates participants, Just to confirm, Limber Fitness will open tomorrow 9 th November. The timetable for PILATES will be as follows: Monday’s ... 9:30 am 10:45 am, Over 50’s 6:15 pm Thursday’s 6.00 pm 7:10 pm Friday’s 9:15 am Please ensure you wear a facemask to enter and exit the building. Whilst exercising face masks are optional. Please ensure that you wash your hands before entering the studio and on entering the studio please use hand sanitiser. Please bring your own Mat and Theraband. If you don’t have your own Theraband, they are available for you to purchase at the studio. At this stage classes are maximised at 10 people per session. Bookings are essential I am looking forward to seeing you face-to-face tomorrow morning!

Power blackout last night ..but that doesn’t stop our devotion to our lvly Lisa’s pilates classes. Nothin' like Lisa who still looked after our bits & pieces even by our own candlelight .... 08.01.2022 Something I REALISED. Hairdressing - Do what the client LIKES. Make them feel better about themselves. From all of my previous employment, (hairdressing) until today with Pilates instruction, Group Fitness Instructor, Bowen therapy and now studying Remedial Massage, a common denominator in all of these skills is................ Do what the PERSON or BODY LIKES and NEEDS! THEY ARE ALL ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE FEEL BETTER! Light bulb moment I thought I would share!

03.01.2022 What is Bowen Therapy? A myofascial therapy applied to resolve a broad range of physical conditions. Research is indicating that by gently impacting on the body’s connective tissue network, fascia, in a very specific way, the work is often able to inspire correction of structural and visceral imbalances that can manifest with a wide variety of symptoms. This is usually achieved via gentle singular cross-fibre movements applied by the therapist over specific points on muscles, tendons and ligaments. With its gentle, minimalist approach to resolving traumatic conditions, it can be used in situations where other therapies may be too invasive.

The timetable has now been updated to all original classes will resume next week minus the Tuesday night yoga.... So in a couple of weeks there will be more opportunity for more classes however I am willing to put more classes on if required.
