24.01.2022 Tim Scott at RV Daily rang us and asked some useful questions about chassis extensions. Check out the article he put together here and see if it answers all the questions you may have about chassis extensions. If you still have an unanswered question then pop it in the comments below and we'll get right back to you.

23.01.2022 What do our customers think of us? Find out by reading the following email we received from a customer who just purchased a Limitless Tailgate Step from us.... "Well what can I say, Epic, epic and add more epicnesseness. Thank you R&D and all that wiz, your step fardgin rocks the fardgin rocking horse. I'm 50, my knees are shot due to serving with the mighty 3rd Battalion (3RAR - Paratrooper), and after the install, I took on some late night Pilates Active Core Training with... a beer. Couldn't help myself. In fact, I'm thinking of parking my rig next to an oval and charge peeps to step up. Your instructions where valuable, but, I tend to fly by the seat of my pants and just hook in. Actually, the entire install weighed in at around 5 beers, hehe. So, I used to call the smurfs to assist and leg me up on the tail gate, I can fire those blue bastards now and use my thighs and knees instead, hooray. Fuck its late, see ya;" What a legend this guy is #number1customer

23.01.2022 We're flat out as usual but we promise to put up some build posts about the jobs going through as we've done a couple of different builds recently, until then we'll just leave this photo here.... Can you answer the two questions..... What length extension is this? What additional part have we cleverly hidden in this tray? (Think large not small)

23.01.2022 Unleashed Dog Behaviour Training asked us to build a kickass dual dog cage and shelf combo in their work ute. We came up with this easy to use, lightweight (all aluminium) and strong design which allows you to simply lift off the doors and slide out the middle panel to be able to use the full size of the tub again. We coated the entire inside of the tub and every part of the cage in the durable Raptor Liner so the dogs can go to town on it and it will survive.... The shelf is rated to 100kgs and has a removable divide in the middle so the customer can customize it to the size objects they wish to carry. One last thing, it has a 12V power supply in the rear wing so you can still power those camping goodies while out and about. Contact us today if you'd like one for your best friend! Spyro our handsome Rhodesian Ridgeback was a great model. #dogcage #dogcrate #dogtraining #utesetup #rhodesianridgeback

21.01.2022 Working on a Sunday!?!? One of our customers has driven up from Melbourne to get his extension done while he takes a holiday here on the sunny coast so the boss and I are in on a Sunday getting the ute stripped down ready for Monday so we stick to the customers tight time frame. The boss (Spyro) looks about as happy as we feel working on a sunny Sunday!!

20.01.2022 With the relaxation of some Covid restrictions the caravans are starting to arrive.... 1st up John's 12 year old teardrop caravan came in for a whopping 30% ATM upgrade!! A new stronger drawbar, new Alko outback rebound suspension (top of the line where reliability matters), new shocks and bearings and away he goes at 1600kgs! We cleaned a few other items up on the van while it was in and he looked very happy with the result, enjoy your travels once you're allowed out again John.

20.01.2022 Hey guys, check out the awesome video the girls and guys at VATtrack Media put together from our last round of the Shannons Nationals!!

19.01.2022 Dual cab conversions..... We get a lot of enquiries about land cruiser and patrol dual cab conversions. We have currently stopped doing the cabin chops but are still doing the chassis extensions on land cruiser and patrol dual cabs. Here's Dave's dual cab conversion with a 300mm chassis extension that we've just completed, it's a TD42 with around 350HP so it's a weapon of a ute.... (We didn't chop the cab on this ute, it was done elsewhere) See more

19.01.2022 These new Amarok V6 are by far the best ute in the class.... Doesn't mean we have to hold back, a cheeky 450mm extension to suit the GVM upgrade and bigger tyres is only the beginning, keep you eyes peeled for this one as we've got more to come.... #amarokv6 #amarokxxl

18.01.2022 What are you doing this weekend? Rust proofing your ute or caravan of course! Having had in two shocking rusty vehicles this week I just want to recommend that you buy a couple of cans of rust proofing and get under your vehicles this weekend to save you the hassles these poor folk are now going through. This 2013 Hilux has been written off due to this extensive rot and the worst part is there is nothing the owner can claim so good bye $20,000! Its best done when new, but y...ou can put some prevention in at any time and I recommend that you get under there once a year to top it up. Follow the easy steps below to get yourself started, the first time will take half a day all up, then an hour a year. 1. Wash the whole underneath in marine cleaner, dont forget inside the chassis rails and on top of the fuel tank. 2. Take it for a drive and let it dry for at least a day. 3. Spray a thin oil like fish oil (you can get non smelly synthetic versions now) inside the chassis rails, lots of it so it drips out all the holes and joints! 4. Spray everything except the exhaust and the drive train with an underbody rust protector. Make sure to get in all the awkward spots, you can undo the fuel tank bolts and drop the tank a couple of inches on the bolts they use to make it easier. 5. Let it all dry, minimum 24 hours before you drive anywhere, with most treatments taking up to 7 days to fully cure before heading to the bush or beach! Which products to use? This question goes round and round, my answer is: any is better than none! I have specific brands we use but you may not find them available at Supercheap Auto so I recommend anything you can get your hands one. A nice thick sealer for the underneath of the vehicle body and the outside of the chassis rails. A nice thin protective oil or film for inside the rails that can flow into all the cracks and gaps. Please remember to clean your 4wd down after every 4wd trip, in the mud you can wait a couple of days before you clean it but if you hit the beach.. get it to a car wash on your way home and clean you the chassis rails!! Have fun guys and dont be afraid to get your hands dirty protecting your pride and joy!

18.01.2022 Congratulations Leesha Gill on being the first winner! (The competition is still open and there are more steps to be won so follow the link below if you haven't already entered!) With so many entries into the competition it was hard to pick a winner, but the comment of "This would make life at deni ute muster easier and more fashionable" won us over, we'd love to see as many blue singlets on the step as possible!... Your new step will be with you shortly and for those of you who missed out on this win, we're going to be giving another one away within the next three weeks so make sure you've entered the competition, hell go back and enter it again for a better chance of winning! #winner #tailgatestep #competition #fordranger #deniutemuster

18.01.2022 Friday's delivery was another 300mm chassis extension with a 2000mm tray, some remanufactured tapered lockers and a new hidden dual battery compartment infront of the rear wheels. This one came up really good compared to the state it was in when it arrived, well talk about that later in the week....

18.01.2022 Daryl brought his mint TD42 ute to us to figure out how he'd get his brand new caravan hooked up without shortening his 2500mm canopy. Easy; a chassis extension will get the load balanced, give a smoother ride and will improve the towing ability of the ute. We went through the size options until he settled on a 450mm extension retaining the single piece tailshaft which allows the wheels to be just behind centre, and all it added to the weight of the ute was less then 50kgs!! Win win all round.

18.01.2022 Another busy week, this time on the historic vehicles and vans..... We have a 75 Series single cab Cruiser in for a 600mm Chassis extension so keep you eyes peeled for this build. Along with the first of our historic caravans that are coming in for major work. This one was difficult, both outer chassis rails completely rusted out, the walls being held up with hopes and dreams, again watch out for the build update coming soon for this one.....

15.01.2022 Where have we been.... Busy is the answer, we've been doing a jobs over here and a jobs over there with no time to report on them. In the mean time take a look at Pete's 1953 F100 that came in for some chassis maintenance; some rust prevention, bolt replacements and general check overs are all critical on old restorations like these to keep things running smoothly. If you're not confident looking over your old classic then bring it to use and we'll check it over with a fine t...ooth comb. #classicford #f100

15.01.2022 Check out the great vlog from VATtrack Media, thanks for the air time guys......

15.01.2022 The Land Cruiser 79 dual cab is a very popular choice for a chassis extension. Most places only offer 300mm. We offer any length that suits your intended purpose. This customer wanted 450mm to suit his 2,100mm camping canopy yet to be fitted. With a 450mm chassis the rear overhang of a 2,100mm canopy is kept to a bare minimum and the tow ball will be just outside of the edge of the tray. Perfect for towing and even better for loading the tray as a small overhang means you... can throw your junk anywhere and not worry about the weight balance. A 3,900kgs TJM GVM upgrade, full stainless Beaudesert Exhaust and VIC engineering mean this is a ute the customer can now get the full potential out of! #lc79 #landcruiser79 #beaudesertexhaust #tjmequipped

14.01.2022 Build insight - VW Amarok; 450mm chassis extension with a 2,250mm tray, part 3. The Tray: Were do we start, this tray is a work of art and the owner is terrified of the first scratch he's going to put into it.... Size: inside usable space 1,800W by 2,250L Material: 100% aluminium with tread plate sheet surface The clever parts: removable ladder rack, hidden fuel filler, steps under front lockers. Accessories/fasteners: Zinc plated steel then powder coated to match. Lets start from the bottom and work up. 3mm all aluminium frame with a tread plate sheet surface. This is a replaceable surface so if damaged in a few years can easily be removed and replaced. 4 under tray lockers. The rear two are tapered to match the chassis departure angle. The front ones have plenty of space with the fuel filler hidden in the corner of one of them. The front lockers also have a decent sized step hidden underneath them to help you up into the tray. The best bit about the lockers is the angled hinges. They are also bolted on so can be replaced if the ute takes a hit as some point in it's life. The rear tailboard features the latest LED lights, inset so you don't smash them if you reverse into the mail box. There are reverse sensors and a camera hidden under the edge showing the tow-ball and 180 degrees of vision. Around the sides are heavy duty 300mm high sides with rattle proof catches and nylon bushed hinges. Up the front is a removable mesh screen protector. This model doesn't feature the extra fuel tank but we also put 80L fuel tanks in the headboard so you can go completely out bush. There is a removable ladder rack that matches the shape of the headboard, and being aluminium is really easy to remove and refit. We also fit another set of mountings at the front of the tray so you can keep the rack at the front or the back, whatever suits your mood/job. A tidy set of in-fill panels between the cab and the tray really finish off the 'clean' look and give the ute the wow factor.

14.01.2022 Customer service comes first! No matter what the reason or the problem you face as a business owner you should always exceed your customers expectations. Russell's caravan ATM increase has had a few set backs this week (out of our control) but a late night last night and some it the box thinking put the build back on time and in budget. One happy customer and more points to our reputation. Model: Sydney spaceland... ATM increase: +400kgs See more

12.01.2022 Come and find us at Coolum collective markets this Sunday 22nd Dec to grab yourself a unique lamp for your man cave or a coffee table. This is what we do with your left over parts; once your job is complete we pile everything up in the corner until we have enough to make some bespoke automotive furniture, can you spot your old parts?

12.01.2022 Build insight - VW Amarok; 450mm chassis extension with a 2,250mm tray, part 1. The local VW dealer, Cricks Maroochydore, wanted to get in on the action and build a demo Amarok to showcase what can be done to the most powerful ute on the market, the V6 Amarok. We got stuck in with the grinders and welders and gave the ute a much needed 450mm chassis extension. You can go more or less but we find this to be the perfect balance of usability and practicality, not to mention how ...good it looks when the dimensions of the tray suit the cab. Then we pulled out the TiG welders and on went a full aluminium tray custom made to fit all the customers ideas, colour coded to match the rest of the vehicle. ARB had already got their hands on the ute first and fitted some bar work along with a 2" lift and some 285 tyres, this finishes the build off nicely.

11.01.2022 Which extension to choose?? This is a BT50 which came in with a 2m tray, way too long for the standard wheelbase. The customer wanted a small extension to balance the load but still be useable in and around town..... 300mm works well here and gets the rear overhang back to the factory size of 1200mm. Oh and a sneaky GVM upgrade went in at the same time, 3500kgs. If they wanted a 2.1m tray then we would have pushed up to a 450mm extension or a 600mm if they were carrying some large heavy loads. Message is if you're not sure what you want or need and we'll work it out for you.

11.01.2022 42 cars, 2 rounds of qualifying and 5 races, including 1 night race, Father's Day was a big one this year! Saturday saw the first of the races with us sitting around 10th spot, before we got our Retro Fast and Furious theme lighting out for the night quali and race! Scott Morgan may or may not have been playing Tokyo Drift theme music over the radio. A big shout out to Macquarie 4x4 for supplying the 4x4 light bar that allowed us to see where we were going! We finished a fe...w places up from where we started and were getting faster so a great result! Sunday rolled around and the sun shone making for a slippery track but we gained another couple of spots finishing in 8th place over all, well done Simon Hodges. We were missing Aaron Grech for this round while he went down and ran the TCR car at Winton, smashing the field and winning by 11 secs! We've got some different car set-up ideas between now and the last races of the season so keep you eye's peeled for our testing reports, we're still getting faster!

11.01.2022 Build insight - VW Amarok; 450mm chassis extension with a 2,250mm tray, part 2. The chassis: The Amarok's come with the toughest chassis in the class and are a great base to start modifications. The V6 also has the most grunt in the class so why not go hard or go home.... Between the customer and ourselves we chose to go with a 450mm extension. You can go with a 300mm but we always find it leaves you wanting more. 600mm+ make the vehicles difficult to use everyday, they don't fit easily into a car park and you have no chance of ever getting it back in the garage. So 450mm to match the 2250mm tray seemed like the best of both worlds. At this length an extra cross member goes in to keep the original VW design specs and we use a higher strength material than the original chassis to keep the strength up in the longer section. All our parts are high tensile steel, CNC cut and folded and then welded in to the highest standards. We then add some clever, careful and lightweight bracing to give the longer wheelbase the desired strength. We don't hold back and only make it to the bare minimum, we make sure that these chassis will handle the tough Australian conditions and the not so great Australian drivers that abuse their vehicles ever day. Most of our chassis are built for serious 4wding and touring so they are built to handle anything you throw at them. Before they go out the door we complete our in-depth rust proofing.... I won't give away all our secrets but we're talking 6 coats; some go inside, some out, sealers also go on the edges of any plates to stop water sneaking in uninvited between the surfaces.

11.01.2022 A weekend delivery ready for a Monday morning!! Brian's brand new Hilux needed a 450mm chassis extension for the new tipper tray they're going to use at work. These Hilux are built on Toyota's solid reputation for a tough chassis! This is unbreakable!!

11.01.2022 Must be a silver week..... Keep your eyes peeled for some different builds coming out of the shed this Coronavirus-season, we've got a huge V6 Amarok build with a difference and a more user friendly Hilux!

11.01.2022 We have another winner... Congratulations Nicholas Zachary on winning a brand new Limitless Tailgate Step. If anyone hasn't seen this great new product we have designed a multi-use tailgate step that can be retro fitted to any ute tailgate and acts as both a step to get in and out of the ute and a load stop if you're carrying large items. Check them out!... https://limitlesschassis.com.au/ser/limitless-tailgate-step #competitionwinner #fordranger #4wdaccessories

10.01.2022 Another happy customer; Greg brought in a brand new PX3 Ranger for a 300mm extension before the wizards at Metalink work their magic on a custom camping canopy for it. Always happy to work on a chassis with only 70kms on the clock, no road dirt or rust! There's also a 3.5T gvm upgrade on this chassis so they can really load up for long adventures. Happy travels guys! #fordranger #chassisextension

10.01.2022 Well that was silly wasn't it? Hugh is ok, back on his feet with a few cuts and bruises, a smaller ego and another story to bore people with for the next ten years. Last weekend he imagined he could do a jump on his mountain bike, where his actual MTB skill level got in the way and stopped him, along with a few rocks and a gravel track in his face.... He's all good, nothing broken, but he is slow so we apologise for any delays in the bookings/scheduled builds and ask you to check your emails to see if your booking has been moved. Thank you for your understanding and Hugh will see you on the MTB trails again soon.... Just don't tell his wife April

10.01.2022 Feeling busy right now.... 1 chassis extension with tray 1 snapped chassis in for an extension 1 chassis in for rust repair and suspension damage... 2 caravan GVM upgrades 1 tow car suspension upgrade No parking space left!

07.01.2022 Well that didn't exactly go to plan.... We headed into Friday practice with a completely new set up to shake off the cobwebs from the off season in last year's BMW M135. Practice went well, we had good pace compared to the field and were confident for Saturday. Saturday started.... and ended 5 laps later in the wall between turn 4 and 5. Simon walked away with a sore neck but otherwise good.... The car was not so good. Scott and Aaron spent the afternoon stripping it down while I went to a wreckers and pulled apart a write off. By 9pm we started realising the damage was to much to fix for the 9am race so we decided to pull the pin. The good news is we have all the parts to get the car back on the track and now we can spend tomorrow building the new BMW M4 for Bathurst in 5 weeks!!

05.01.2022 Front end Friday........ Unfortunately Lucas's Patrol has been hit by the two most common faults; a rusty radiator support which worked its way down into the chassis and a torn out rear suspension coil tower. We hit the rust by removing the whole radiator support and installing a new genuine one, along with a new pair of crush cans and some repairs to the chassis to remove the rusted out sections.... At the back we removed the tower, chased the cracks, plated the chassis and installed a new genuine tower. We then installed our own tower braces that will stop this happening in the future, a must for all Patrol drivers no matter what type of touring/4wding you do.

05.01.2022 I'm not sure words can describe the quality of the previous repair, to say it was done in the backyard of a farm is an understatement! Dave brought his Series 3 Landy in for a quick repair to the front chassis rail that had previously been patched up. We cut out the old which was 16mm out of place and installed a new section with some extra re-enforcing. You can see how they didn't clean the old damaged section before they did the repair nor did they put any internal rust proofing. When we repair the sections we straighten the original rails, clean up any rust and then heavily rust proof the area before welding in a pre-painted replacement section. We then seal inside with chassis with a heavy duty rust proofing before hitting the outside with 2 pack paint for a clean finish that won't rust again in a hurry.

05.01.2022 How good does this look? We reckon it's the best install we've seen so far!! Richard sent us some pictures of his Limitless tailgate step which we colour coded to match his inferno Orange Hilux. It's still in tough exterior powder coat with our non slip surface that's to the guys at Ridgewood powder Coaters.

05.01.2022 We thought we'd add to the dual cab conversion conversation.... Here is our 600mm chassis extended patrol on the left and the newly built 300mm chassis extended patrol on the right. (Cabin chops are slightly different, bronze ute has a longer cabin) Which do you think is more useful?

04.01.2022 1st stretch of the year out the door already, just in time for work next week.... Keep an eye out for these PX3's they're popular with a 300mm Chassis extension. #chassisextension #stretchedranger

03.01.2022 Is this the first one in the country? Check out the 300mm extension complete with a 3,500kgs GVM upgrade we've just completed on this brand new 2021 Mazda BT-50. The customer has a custom canopy being built, so we chucked on the standard tub so he can drive it around for a week while he waits for the canopy.... We'll get some complete pictures up once the canopy is on.

03.01.2022 A great community came together for the burpees for bushfires this morning, 46,000 burpees in 2 hours! Now I'm due a visit to the pub!

02.01.2022 Slide into the weekend with Limitless Chassis. David has managed to tear off his last two sets of side steps on his Ram 2500 so he turned to us for a custom set of rock sliders to suit his driving style. They follow our usual style of having a kicker just before the rear wheels to help with keeping the tyre in the track when slopping around in the mud.... They feature our special non-slip coating on the tread surface that we use on our tailgate steps and as they're made from 4mm thick tube they shouldn't bend any time soon. Hit us up if you want a set of serious Rock sliders for your Ram.... Or any other ute for that matter.

01.01.2022 Roland's Toy Hauler This was a large build, she started out as an 1,800kgs road trailer built for 3 motorbikes. After we finished the spec list stands as follows: 2,350kgs ATM upgrade (+550kgs)with full independent suspension 4" Suspension Lift... 2" Tyre increase Full chassis strengthening Rear motorbike rack allowing for 4 motorbikes and retain a 10% ball weigh. Front swing away tyre carrier And after all this work the total weight of the trailer came out 20kgs lighter than when it rolled in. It's fair to say the customer is stocked and the family of 4 can now get away racing the bikes at the weekend rather than the two trailers they used to have to lug around. See more
