25.01.2022 There is something truly cathartic about putting pen to paper to unload our deepest thoughts and feelings. I find getting it all out in writing allows me to clear up space in my mind, which when done in the morning can set me up for the rest of the day, helping me to be more productive and relaxed. In my upcoming 5 week mental wellbeing program, we will move through evidence based strategies, like journalling, to explore what works best for you. If you'd like to join me, head to my website. https://www.lindarowley.com.au//5-week-mental-wellbeing-pr

25.01.2022 I love these 60 second sound bites from the University of Pennsylvania to get a quick "learning fix!" These mini lectures are powerfully punchy to instantly provoke thoughts on a range of diverse topics including positive psychology, history, chemistry, racism, religion and art. Let me know what you think! https://www.sas.upenn.edu/60-second

24.01.2022 "When I was getting petrol today, an elderly woman was having a panic attack in her car. She was not aware of where she was and was shaking uncontrollably. She was unable to move and had trouble breathing. It really did look like she was having a heart attack. I can't believe how the training helped me deal with the situation so quickly. Blessings to you for the training. You never know whether it will serve a purpose one day." I received this feedback from a MHFA traine...e this week and am sharing because it really shows how the skills learnt in MHFA could change a life. When you learn MHFA you can more easily spot the signs of when someone is in distress and know how to take the necessary actions to help them. The kind of skills are invaluable in the workplace and also in everyday life. If you are interested in completing your mental health first aid, please send me a message as I have course dates coming up soon. See more

In this video I chat about three FREE resources that you can access via my website to equip yourself with this life changing skill.

21.01.2022 In 2006 I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery. On the first night I returned home from hospital, I jotted down my reflections on how to navigate the way forward, now that my life had changed. I'm sharing it now, 14 years later as I feel it may resonate with you. It speaks to the reason why I do the work I do, because I know first hand how life can change and how with support, it is possible to move on and chart a new course. ***** "When the rudder falls off...Continue reading

20.01.2022 R U OK? Day is on Thursday September 10. I love this campaign as a reminder to look out for each other, as asking friends, team mates or loved ones if they are OK is something most of us do naturally, in day to day conversation. But knowing what to do or say if the response is "no, I'm not OK" is something you may be unsure about. This article is a great starting point to respond in a helpful way. If you'd like to take these skills further, I invite you to complete Mental Health First Aid Training with me. The links are on my website: https://www.lindarowley.com.au/course-registration

17.01.2022 Have you ever wondered how, as a manager or colleague you could approach someone you work with when you suspect they may be experiencing mental health issues? How can you tell if someone is just having a rough day, and when should you 'step in' and say something? What would you even say or do if you did approach them and they weren't OK? When you become a Mental Health First Aider you learn the skills to answer all of these questions and act in a way that is best for the pe...rson you are concerned about, yourself and your workplace. By completing Mental Health First Aid training designed specifically for the workplace, you will be equipped to support a team member before or during a crisis situation. If you're interested in the course for yourself, or your team, I'd love for you to make the most of the current price of $220 per person before it goes up to $349 per person by booking in before September 29. I have a few places left for the course running on the 24th September and 1st October. You can find all of the details and links to register you and your team on my website: https://www.lindarowley.com.au//online-workplace-mental-he Of course, if you have any questions, I'd love to chat.

16.01.2022 I'm excited to share with you a project I've been working on in collaboration with a dear friend of mine, @Sarah Backhouse. Wellbeing Pathways will provide small group walking experiences aimed at enhancing the wellbeing of individuals, groups of teams. This special initiative was born from our shared passion for walking in nature and our knowledge of wellbeing science from the Masters of Positive Psychology at The University of Melbourne. As part of this project, we have lau...nched a podcast - Wellbeing Walks & Talks to share actionable strategies to boost your wellbeing from conversations with our guests. To kick off the podcast, @Sarah Backhouse and I were honoured to have @Professor Lindsay Oades speak with us about the psychological benefits of walking. Professor Oades is an internationally acclaimed wellbeing public policy strategist, researcher and author - and also a self-described walker. As Director of the @Centre for Positive Psychology at The University of Melbourne, he leads a growing and dynamic team of researchers and educators who promote and investigate how people learn to improve wellbeing, in education, health, organisations and communities. 06.01.2022 This testimonial from an anonymous Mental Health First Aid trainee is shows how the skills learnt in the MHFA course for the workplace are transferable and can be truly life changing: " My eldest daughter has had a really rough past 12 months and I have spent many hours on the phone with her. I used the things I learnt, and it wasn’t as confronting as I thought. It gave me licence to talk to her about the consequences, how she was feeling, why she was feeling that way etc et...c - it has also given me the skills to help her in an ongoing fashion. She is doing OK now, still not 100% but being able to talk to her in an open and frank manner as we learn in the training has been a fantastic skill set. So well worth the training and thanks to you for the opportunity." If you'd like to give yourself or your team the opportunity to learn these skills, I have an online course starting next week and I would love you to join us: https://www.lindarowley.com.au//online-workplace-mental-he

02.01.2022 If you think you don't have people around you experiencing poor mental health, one reason could be that your friend, family member or team mate has not felt comfortable saying anything. This article shares an honest experience from someone who has completed their mental health first aid, saying the training helped them to look after themselves and gave them confidence to start a life changing conversation with others, should they need to. A lot of businesses are starting to ...have mental health first aiders on staff as well as physical first aiders. And if they don't, I would love to have the conversation with you about how you can have staff who know how to support others before, during or after a crisis. For $220 per person you can start to create a team of Mental Health First Aiders, without even leaving your home or office. Dates and times for the online courses are on my website: https://www.lindarowley.com.au/course-registration
