23.01.2022 All hands on deck today at #camperdownpassivehouse for window delivery. Windows are a key component for a passive house, they need to be airtight and to not act as a thermal bridge to transfer heat and cold. We are using @logikhaus 68mm series windows made from FSC certified finger jointed pine to minimise timber waste with powder coated aluminium cladding to the exterior side of the timber frames to minimise ongoing Maintenance. The glass is 42 decibel reduction double glazi...ng and there is aluminium cladding to the exterior face of the frames to minimise ongoing maintenance. We have used a solar control glass to the east and west facades and north facing glass is shaded by exterior blinds to minimise solar heat gain. The double glazing has plastic spacer instead of standard metal to minimise thermal bridging at the glazing edge. 13.01.2022 Bayside renovation project coming together nicely. The bones are almost in place, ceilings have been maximised, new natural light in and the living room has been reconfigured and opened up to make the most of the north facing backyard.
