18.01.2022 LATE POST The "Tanks to Stanthorpe" project was initiated in August last year as an act of kindness to assist those community groups affected by bushfires and drought. The Stanthorpe communities were chosen as they are a part of our Lion's District and we commenced liaising with the Stanthorpe Lions Club. Numerous BBQ events were run over the next few months up until the COVID shutdown in March 2020. We sizzled more than 5,000 snags as well as numerous other bacon & steak sam...bo combinations. Our customers were informed that the funds raised would be directed to support those affected by fire and drought. The community keenly supported our efforts and we were able to commission Jason, at Select Water Tanks Pty Ltd (our local business) to manufacture 4 x 3000 gallon (13600 litre) stainless steel tanks, and Rick of Dryden Signs to design and fit logos for each tank. On the 18 July 2020 we delivered the tanks to the beneficiaries - the Stanthorpe Pistol, Jockey & Archery Clubs, and the Ballandean Soccer Club. The tanks were gratefully received, and a formal dinner party was held that evening which was enjoyed by all.

06.01.2022 What a great day had by all at the annual Lions Club of Logan Village Golf Day. Lots of laughs, some good golf, some crap golf, and a few cold drinks. Breakfast and lunch prepared and served by the Lions. Everyone went home with lots of goodies, with over 50 raffle prizes as well as entry gifts. Everyone commented what great value the day was at $50pp. Estimates suggest over $5000 raised which will be funnelled straight back into the local community, where it’s most need...ed. If you missed out this year, make sure you get in early in 2021. Thanks to all sponsors, participants and all Lion members that worked tirelessly all day ( and days and months prior to event). Remember we are always looking for new members.

06.01.2022 The Logan Village Lions Club annual golf day is up and running with plenty of novelty holes to test the players skill levels. A great turn out of 64 golfers. A big Thankyou to our sponsors and supporters. Without your assistance this day wouldn’t be possible.

04.01.2022 Today is World Humanitarian Day Why World humanitarian Day is so important! 1.It celebrates unsung heroes... Humanitarian aid workers are some of the most heroic and honorable people alive, putting themselves in harm's way by traveling to conflict zones and disaster areas to help alleviate the suffering of strangers. Despite this great work, these workers are rarely acknowledged publicly, sometimes for their own safety. World Humanitarian Day is a sobering reminder of how many lives have been lost in the name of this valiant cause, as well as a celebration of the workers currently doing this necessary but often, dangerous work. 2. It highlights the need for humanitarian work As an occupation, humanitarian aid worker isnt an extremely popular profession. Simply put, there can never be enough humanitarian aid workers out there. Every year, millions of people need humanitarian assistance as a result of disasters both natural and man-made. World Humanitarian Day reminds us of the increasing need for humanitarian workers who can give selflessly of their time. 3. Its an international event A big part of World Humanitarian Day is drawing importance to the need for international cooperation on humanitarian issues. Humanitarian aid workers might be helping people in their home countries, or they might be dispatched to help those in need elsewhere. International cooperation is essential to maintaining the safety of humanitarian aid workers while enabling them to help those who suffer. #201Q1 #Q1Lions #WorldHumanitarianDay #LionsClubInternationalFoundation #GlobalCauses #Humanitarian
