25.01.2022 East Fremantle LIONS Club today had a worthwhile morning down on the River (at Norm McKenzie Reserve = Prickle Park) for "Clean -Up Australia Day". Most enjoyable, and LIONS had the BBQ going to feed the troops, plus the SHOP-RIDER Express Kiddies (Thomas) type train down there as well for the kids. We'll be down there again in a fortnight (Sunday 17th) for our 3rd Sunday of the month Arts & Craft Market. A local gentleman asked if he could join us in our activities, and we hope that more might like to do likewise. Please message for details, or catch us at the next market.

25.01.2022 LIONS Riverside Market (East Fremantle) is looking good for next Sunday (17th Feb) down at Norm McKenzie Reserve, on the Swan River.(9:00 - 1:00pm). Make a plan to come down. The weather forecast says 28 degrees and fine. We have had great reactions to our new Kiddies train, which looks like a "Thomas The Tank Engine". We had it at Melville plaza on Saturday last ... very popular!... We encourage families to come down for the morning, and to enjoy the market stalls, the natural beauty of the park, and the general area, which has plenty of coffee shops, clubs and restaurants. The park has a clean sandy beach, and a large playground. LIONS markets provide the train, a jumpy castle, face painting by Elle, and cakes, coffee, and sausage sizzles ... so you can bring the family and have a great but inexpensive morning. Grab that "made with love" quirky gift from one of the many unique stalls ... gotta be more original than BigW. See more

24.01.2022 Yesterday (Sunday 16th December) ) we had our market event down on the river. Thanks to everyone for the great effort, and helping make it a another lovely day. Thankfully the weather was better than the predictions would have us believe, but we did pack up a little early as the dark clouds came across. Some random pics are below.

24.01.2022 We had our meeting last night down at the Swan yacht Club last night, and it was most enjoyable, thanks to the great company (see pic). Johnny Walker is back on his feet and it was good to see him. He's a little trooper! We wrote a cheque for the charity of our last market *LIONS Alhzeimers Foundation, and voted that our next market charity would be our friends at the Sea Scouts and Freo Rowing Club, both of whom adjoin our market and allow us access to their toilet facilities. The next time our club will get together is at the next market on the 3rd Sunday of April (15th) in 10 days or so ... the weather forecast is fine & sunny. Any market lovers that wish to help us with the markets are welcome!

23.01.2022 FIRSTLY .... the local LIONS are selling CHRISTMAS CAKES tomorrow morning (Saturday) at Melville Plaza, and we are on the look-out for good citizens to join our humble club. The weather looks fine for the "LIONS Riverside" market this Sunday (18th), starting this month at 9:30am (due to Triathlon event on the river, that includes Norm McKenzie Reserve). Plenty of stalls for enjoying the day and Christmas shopping. Lions will have a "Garage Sale Trail" stall as wel...l ... 2nd hand tools, brica-brac and bikes. FOOD? Sausage sizzle, coffee and cakes ... but if you want to go up-market, Eat Greek, the Swan Yacht Club and Zephers are nearby. It is dog friendly, and kids have lots of things to keep them busy, with a playground, beach, free jump castle, face painting and the LIONS 'carnival' photo-booth Next month (3rd Sunday = 16th Dec, we expect to have a Kiddies TRAIN "Thomas the Tank Engine" !!!! 20.01.2022 Best market yet. A fine day beside the river, and lots of families with little kids coming to see and ride on the new kiddies train "SHOP RIDER Express". Thanks once more to Fremntle & Booragoon LIONS clubs for Helping East Freo Club to host this monthly event (3rd Sunday). If anyone civil person wishes to help / join us with such LIONS activities and comradeship, feel free to contact/talk to us at any time.

20.01.2022 Our LIONS Arts & Craft market is looking good for next Sunday (19th May) down at Norm McKenzie Reserve, on the Swan River.(9:00 - 1:00pm). Make a plan to come down. The weather forecast says fine. We have had great reactions to our new Kiddies train, which looks like a "Thomas The Tank Engine", but is actually the "SHOP-RIDER Express". WE had it at Melville plaza on Saturday last ... very popular!... We encourage families to come down for the morning, and to enjoy the market stalls, the natural beauty of the park, and the general area, which has the new Cool Beanz coffee shop, and clubs and restaurants nearby. It may suite to have a good ol' LIONS sausage sizzle for economy (food-wise) The park has a clean sandy beach, and a large playground. LIONS markets provide the train, a jumpy castle, face painting by Elle, and cakes, coffee, and sausage sizzles ... so you can bring the family and have an inexpensive morning. The RIVERSIDE Markets are a great place to take the kids to run around and play, especially in Summer because it is cooler there, has a park playground, things to look at, a bit of bush, a photo-booth, doggy friendly with GreyHound adoptions paricipating, and has a nice beach. The sea scouts and rowing club is there as well to get involved with, and other eateries and walks are close-by.

04.01.2022 Yesterday we had our 2nd market, the "Riverside market" down at Norm McKenzie Reserve. It was was a perfect day and we estimate that twice as many people attended compared to our 1st market in January. All $money raised goes to charity, and this month our (East Freo) charity was LIONS EyeSight Foundation. Freo Club again will give their share to LIONS Childhood Cancer Research, and Booragoon will give to "Friends of Booragoon lake", a local environmental group. Our guys ran a LIONS sausage sizzle, and the Scouts ran a egg&bacon wrap up at the scout hall end. Thanks to all who participated and the LIONS on the duty roster who kept things as safe and helpful as possible.
