She is a true inspiration. At Mater, 1000 women will hear the words you have cancer and their lives will forever be changed. But that’s more than a numberthat’s our mums, sisters, daughters and grandmothers. Each woman deals with it differently. Nobody ever thought it would happen to them.... But when it does, Mater Chicks in Pink is there to help. Thanks to Lions at Springwood Go Pink Lunch, women who undergo the loss of one or both breasts have access to Mastectomy bras. When they lose their hair, these women have access to a range of wigs to suit their style. And when life becomes inundated with doctors’ appointments and radiation schedules, the Mater Chicks in Pink program covers parking costs and grocery vouchers to alleviate life’s stresses and help these women focus on what matters mostgetting better. Together we are funding life-changing research into better diagnosis and treatment of this disease to ensure that we have more moments with our loved ones. Breast cancer treatment is physically, emotionally and often financially exhausting, but thanks to the generous support of Lions at Springwood Go Pink Lunch, Mater can ensure women are provided with the very best of care.
