21.01.2022 Promote our Q 3 clubs activities July 2019 - June 2020 I'd like to create another service themed poster for Lions. See our Bushfire Drought poster - this receiv...ed nearly 2,000 Facebook likes and hundreds of reposts. Many Lions commented this poster was a great marketing tool. Wondering could club members discuss this with their Presidents/Secretaries. Is it possible to send me by end of June information about your 12 months of activities/projects? Much like an outgoing Club Presidents report. See my concept poster- covering Lions 5 global causes. Please send to - [email protected] Thank you - Peter

17.01.2022 We’re very excited to announce, Specsavers Australia, Australia’s fastest growing hearing services provider is the newest sponsoring partner of Australian Lions... Hearing Dogs and our Training Centre Expansion! We couldn’t be more thrilled. The amazing support from Specsavers Audiology will enable ALHD to deliver a greater number of professionally trained Hearing Assistance Dogs to deaf and hard of hearing Australians in need.
17.01.2022 Always a fun afternoon listening to great music, sharing a cuppa with everyone, and of course a bit of our famous Christmas cake! One gentleman even admitted to enjoying 4-5 pieces!
16.01.2022 Dont forget to come down and get your Christmas cakes before we run out. Were at the exit to Big W at Strathpine Centre, and check for us at the Lawnton Bunnings too. If you dont need any cake, then you can give a donation to the farmers hit by the drought. Every cent helps!

12.01.2022 With Australia currently facing what could be its worst bushfire crises in history, Lions Clubs are rallying together to support those affected. Lions across t...he country have been out in full force in their communities this week. And when disaster strikes, the Australian Lions Foundation is focused on getting emergency support to communities in need as quickly as possible. Right now, residents across NSW and QLD need our help, says Foundation Chairperson Tony Benbow OAM. Australians looking to make a donation and support those affected by the bushfires can do so through their local Lions Club or through donating directly to Australian Lions Foundation. Every dollar will go directly to supporting those affected and donations over $2 are tax deductable. To make a donation visit http://www.alf.lions.org.au/ and select the GiveNow link. https://www.givenow.com.au/australianlionsfoundation All donations over $2 are tax deductible. #LionsAustralia #LionsWeServe See more

08.01.2022 It is Volunteer Week this week (18-24 May). Theme- Changing Communities.... Changing Lives During National Volunteer Week this week, I take this opportunity ...to thank all the members of the Q3 Lions family for the many hours you give freely to serve your communities as volunteers. said our District Governor Donna Hedges #volunteerweek #weserve #ordinarypeopledoingextraordinarythings https://www.volunteeringaustralia.org/update-on-national-/
07.01.2022 The week of the 2nd-8th of August is International Assistance Dog Week. This week was created to recognise all the devoted hard working assistance dogs that hel...p individuals to have a more independent life. In honor of this week we would love to hear from some of our Australian Lions Hearing Dog recipients as to how their dog has helped them mitigate everyday life or a heroic deed that their dogs has done. We will begin with the story of ALHD "Polly" she was a little Papillion x who was placed in NSW. When her recipient was visiting a family member, Polly ran to her owner and tapped her but there was no sound occurring that Polly was trained for. After she did this twice more the recipient followed her. Polly led her to the next room where the baby was sleeping and it was soon apparent that the baby wasnt breathing as her lips had turned blue. The baby was rushed onto a ventilator and was thankfully breathing again. It just goes to show how inventive dogs are when they can work outside the realms of what they have been trained for. If you have a story to share please post in the comments below.

03.01.2022 This September, Lions clubs are raising awareness of childhood cancer. Since its inception in 2009, Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation (ALCCR...F), with the help of people just like you, has raised over $10 million dollars for childhood cancer research and has supported countless Australian organisations leading the fight against childhood cancer. Of particular significance has been the partnership with Garvan Institute of Medical Research, where ALCCRF and Lions Clubs International helped to fund the genome sequencing of 400 children with high risk cancer, allowing for more tailored treatment plans to be developed and giving kids with cancer a better chance at recovery and the childhood they deserve. https://alccrf.lions.org.au/lions-kids-cancer-genome-proje/
02.01.2022 Assistance animal toilets and watering facilities are located at some of the major airports in Australia. Before all of our dogs board a plane in Adelaide we ma...ke use of the facilities which are located near the T1 pick up and drop off zone outside of the airport Brisbane and Sydney both have Assistance Animal Relief areas inside the Terminals. Brisbane's are located in the Domestic Terminal - Level 2, Central Terminal area (near Gate 25) and Sydney's are at T2 departures concourse opposite Movida. These are a great initiative that we hope to see available at all Terminals in the future.
02.01.2022 To our Lions family. There has been a fire at the Lions National Office in Newcastle overnight. The fire started in an adjacent business that has unfortunately ...been destroyed. Thankfully, the Fire Service has managed to limit the damage to our office, and for that we are extremely grateful. There has been some damage to the rear of our building. As a result, we currently have no power to the office, and therefore no phones. Restoring power will be our first priority and we will provide updates on that when we can. All Lions staff are safe and well and working from home. Thank you. See more
01.01.2022 Being active is a must for all our Mental Health Toolkits, both physically and mentally. For some of us a routine of certain physical activity or the daily cros...sword keeps us grounded, but if this doesn't work for you, mix it up, try out different classes, sports, whatever works for you. But having a few different ways to stay active means you're more likely to have a way of staying active to suit your mood, bit like a multi screwdriver! This week we are filling out Mental Health Toolkit in conjunction with Freedom to Feel Fantastic See more
