22.01.2022 Several of our club members had the pleasure of attending the Charter Dinner for this amazing new Lions Club, Lions Club of Clarence - Environmental. The overall goal ( of this club ) is to halt the decline and help preserve threatened flora and fauna in the Clarence. This is the first environmental club in our district, which has already secured funding towards projects such as Koala and Coastal Emu protection, and the broader protection of our precious biodiversity in the... region. Your passion and dedication was clearly evident, Lions Club of Clarence - Environmental members. We are all very proud to see our Lions Family grow, particularly at a time when Community Service opportunities are very limited. The Lions Club of Woolgoolga wish you every success in your future endeavours. Lions ... We Serve

21.01.2022 Everyone was ‘jumping for joy’ at the sod turning ceremony today. The event was attended by Robyn Ruth and Marion Smith (Red Cross Woolgoolga Branch) Jean Vickery (Lions Club of Woolgoolga) and Julie Woodwell (Rotary Club of Woolgoolga). These wonderful ladies represented the many volunteers who are active in the service clubs in our local community. We can’t wait to see this project completed for the benefit of our local residents.

12.01.2022 Lion Luke Graham proudly presented a cheque for $6000 to the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service this evening. Lion Luke has worked tirelessly for many years to raise money for the service through the Max Bromley Westpac Helicopter Fundraising board. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has put this initiative on hold for quite some time. We are proud that our club could still donate money to this amazing service this year and are hopeful the fundraising board may be able to start up again soon, as life returns closer to normal. We hope our club’s contribution can help keep this wonderful service operating in our skies for the benefit of our community.

11.01.2022 We could all be in this situation without strict controls and wise decisions. Thinking of our southern friends at this time. Stay safe, everyone.

People with diabetes face challenges everyday managing their condition. If you know someone with diabetes, checking in with them occasionally and just ‘being there for them’ could help them to feel more supported and make a big difference.

02.01.2022 Lions Australia is pleased to have adopted Disaster Relief Australia as one of our key projects. Disaster Relief Australia (formerly known as Team Rubicon) brin...gs military veterans, emergency responders and motivated civilians together to volunteer their time to assist with emergency and disaster relief operations. This not only helps communities devastated by disasters, but it also helps Australian veterans find purpose through community service. Lions members are often the first to respond during times of crisis, as was seen in the 2019/2020 Black Summer bushfires. This partnership will be of significant benefit to both organisations - allowing veterans to get involved in more community projects, and assisting Lions clubs with more trained emergency responders in times of disaster.
