24.01.2022 From Oskar Krobath: Good Morning Eungella Community! Sorry for the short notice, I have attached this year’s ECDA Christmas Menu, hope to see you there. Please we need the community support and get the orders in by Saturday!! this week to be able to organise catering. We only have 10 days left. Have a lovely day. FULL DETAILS ON FLYER. URGENT RSVP!

24.01.2022 Eleanor is the wonderful champion of regional small halls, and two annual events that have greatly benefited Eungella Community Development Association, Eungella State School P&C, Crediton Hall Campground and others, and of course the wider community.

23.01.2022 ECDA has planned to hold a First Aid Course for interested members of the community. On the 25 October 8.30 - 2.30pm As a result of recent serious accidents happening here on the mountain, the timing couldn't be better. Thanks to first responders, lives were saved. It is most important more people feel confident to act swiftly when a situation arises. Even if you have completed a Course in the past, a refresher would be valuable. Much appreciation is directed to the MAckay Re...gional Council Disaster Recovery Team who have required funding to cover the costs, so the Course is free to all participants. There will be a limit of numbers (max. 20). Should we get a greater response, we may consider a further Course, however it may not be free? Please refer to the attached flyer sent out earlier for the details for enrolment. Joan Lennox 0427431171 email. - [email protected] Morning Tea and Lunch will be served.

22.01.2022 A huge congratulations to locals Jolene Robinson, Lisa Roebig Holmes, and the Mackay Regional Council's Community Recovery Project Team including Wanda, Helen and Elissa, for last night's opening of the 'Disaster Recovery and Resilience Exhibition' at the Gordon White Library. It was an amazing experience for 3 of our local Eungella State School students who helped set up their display, proudly showed off their artwork to guests, and talked about their creations. Such an amazing opportunity for our remote students, highly recommend everyone take a look, especially the kids who were involved, they were so thrilled by the process, and a bonus was the kid's corner at the Library, a big thanks to the Mackay Regional Council Libraries for their patience . The Exhibition runs until March 2nd.

19.01.2022 An exciting new event happening soon at Broken River, from Sue Vonthien

18.01.2022 If you are wishing to vote on the weekend and have not been able to get to pre poll as you have chosen to self isolate take the opportunity to ring 1300 912 782... to telephone vote. Although there is a little wait it is certainly worth your time once your call is attended to. The process is relatively simple beyond this point. This is particularly important if you have elderly relatives or you are elderly and/or have health issues or, like many you are making a decision to limit the number of people interacting on the day.

17.01.2022 Eungella is a beautiful town and it has come a long way since bushfires ravaged the area in 2018. It is all due to the hard work, resilience and dedication of t...he local community. Eungella Community Development Association (ECDA) have completed facility upgrades to The Community Hall in Eungella, as a result of funding from a jointly funded Commonwealth-Queensland Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) through Category C Community Recovery Funds (CRF). Eungella Community Development Association, along with 12 other community groups, non-government agencies, industry groups, and local governments in Capricornia were provided with funding through the CRF. The association received $92,500 to complete facility upgrades to the hall and to construct the Eungella and Surrounds Mens Shed, which is expected to begin construction in the coming months.

17.01.2022 What a wonderful community we have !

17.01.2022 Sarina Landcare Catchment Management Association Inc. (SLCMA) are currently seeking participants of one of our active programs the Land for Wildlife Program. ... The Land for Wildlife (LfW) program is a free, voluntary program that aims to support, encourage, and recognise landholders who integrate wildlife conservation with their land management activities. By protecting native diversity, we can create a wide variety of habitats for wildlife in our area. The retention of habitat for native wildlife can play a major role in sustainable land management. It can provide a natural means of pest control, help with erosion and salinity management, and provide shade and shelter for livestock. Whilst National Parks and other reserves protect natural areas, they only cover four percent of Queensland. The program has no legislative requirements/does not change the legal status of your property (and is voluntary so you can opt out whenever you like), and will not change how you manage your property, it is purely to help landholders learn about native plants, animals and ecosystems on their own property, and get advice on managing threats such as weeds and pest animals. The only requirements of the program are that you live in the Mackay Regional Council area, the property is larger than 1 hectare and has some remnant vegetation (native, non-cleared) present. Domestic animals do not restrict your involvement either. Through the project, landholders involved receive for FREE: A site visit from our Project Officer, Morgan Thomas, to come and assess the vegetation (native and exotic) on the property and identify your property goals. Advice on local and exotic plants (species identifications included), threatened species, ecosystems, and their management. Personalised Land Management Action Plan to provide further information targeted at your specific property goals. 20 free native plants each year. Re-visits to your property if you would like them (for any additional ecosystem, plant, wildlife advice etc. or even native/weed species ID’s). Invitations to workshops, field days, regular newsletters, and opportunities to meet other like-minded landholders. A Land for Wildlife sign for your property to acknowledge your efforts in wildlife conservation. We only have a few spaces left in this program, so please get in quick! If anyone is interested they can fill out the form in the image above and email it to [email protected], or call the office on 4956 1388 and ask for Morgan. The Land for Wildlife Program is supported by Mackay Regional Council Natural Environment Levy.
