22.01.2022 Oh what a wonderful night we had on our Blacktown Ponds Lions Club Inc 2020 Changeover Dinner on 23rd of July . Welcome to all our New Officers 2020 - 2021. ...District Governor Jon Copson inducted our Incoming Board Members and IPDG Jennifer Touzel inducted our 9 new members. Thanks to everyone who came gracing us with all your presence and everyone seems to have had a great night amidst the OVID - 19 observing social distancing rules sending paper planes to the next table when communicating. Most of all thanks to all our Blacktown Ponds Lions Club Inc members who work so tirelessly hard throughout the whole year. Looking back at our President Rissa McInnes reports and power point presentation compiled by Chartered President Paul McInnes on that night it is unbelievably unimaginable that together our club we all had achieved so much in such a short time in just a period of 4 years we had donated locally and internationally a whopping AUD$377,000 + short of our AUD$400,000 target constraints due to COVID - 19 pandemic crisis ! Each and everyone of our members deserves a pat on the back and all credits goes to all of our members, supporters and sponsors. Our club had endured a lot of trials and tribulations but as the year went by we grow continuously stronger together from strength to strength. Thanks for believing in our club and together lets continue to roar and serve the community. Lets all keep up the good work. Big congratulations to Lion Vinal Singh and Lion Monica Zheng for receiving the Rissa McInnes President Award 2019 - 2020. Special Awards was presented to Lion Rodney Troy, Espie Bables, Greg Baird and Orchy Macquarrie. Congratulations to all a well deserving award ! Congratulations to the new board 202p - 2021 we have a challenging year ahead of us ! Good luck to all of us ! In Lions together we serve and continue to Roar. See more

22.01.2022 Last Thursday evening saw the annual changeover dinner for the Lions Club of Berowra. Held at the new renovated Cafe Laurella, this traditional event sees the i...nduction of the new Lions Board members for the coming year. The evening was attended by a number of local and Lions Club dignitaries including current Lions District Governor Derek Margerison and his wife Barbara, Lions Zone 3 Chairperson Mark Sing, Federal Member for Berowa, Julian Leeser MP, Hornsby Shire Council Councillor, Nathan Tilbury and current President of Berowra Rotary, Peggy Saunders. In 2019/20, your Berowra Lions Club will be led by incoming President, Lion Geoff Turnbull. Geoff will be supported by a group of energetic members who will continue the work of past Boards to help the Berowra community in whatever way possible. While there are many new faces in the new Board, familiar faces will provide support and counsel. The 2019/20 Board will be Geoff Turnbull, Les Howe, Graham Estreich, Ros Fuller, Colin Hunter, Colleen Starkey, Jackie Beattie and Brian Engert. We must also acknowledge and thank the amazing work of the immediate past Board led by Lion John Bull. The incoming Board would like to thank John and his wife Jen and we look forward to his guidance and support in the coming year.

17.01.2022 It is with great sadness that i report on the passing of PID Ken Lentfer OAM this morning. PID Ken was a charter member of the Parramatta Lions Club back in 195...8. Ken held the position of Distirct Governor, Council Chair and International Director and was very nearly Australias first International President after making a bid for such but was unsuccessful. Ken was an icon and stalwart of the Parramatta LGA until he moved north to Newcastle for a quiter life in his later years. Ken will be remembered fondly as a pioneer in ideas for community service and ways to impact lives in communities less fortunate than ourselves. Fly free mate knowing your job has been completed but your legacy remains strong in the club that you proudly served.

01.01.2022 Lions Club of Lugarno Help out over Christmas. Hampers give away Normal life for families living with disability is hard enough Covid19 has made it more difficult. Every little thing that can be celebrated during the year helps families to add a bit of well deserved joy to their lives. Christmas is with us again and Suzy from Cerebral Palsy Alliance at Penshurst approached 2VP Lion Greg English from the Lions Club of Lugarno Inc. to advise him that this year CPA Penshurst... has had to cancel their annual Christmas party for the Children looked after by them. Suzy asked if Lions would help by contributing to a bag with Christmas goodies for her children to take the place of the party. The Lions Club of Lugarno is a strong supporter of the CPA and usually provides tents and equipment and BBQ’s for the party. 2VP Greg said We jumped at the chance to make the children’s Christmas a bit brighter and donated 300 Lions mini Christmas cakes and 400 chocolate and nut packets to them to help make their Christmas bags a bit fuller. We wish the children and their families a happy and joyous Christmas for 2020.

01.01.2022 Sydney News CONGRATULATIONS IPDG JENNIFER TOUZEL and GENEVIEVE JENY We Care, We Serve, We Accomplish for LCIF Both IPDG Jennifer Touzel (Toongabbie Seven Hills Lions) and District LCIF Chairperson Genevieve Jeny (Manly Lions) received the LCIF Chairperson’s Medal from Lions Clubs International Foundation in February for 2019-2020 from Gudrun Yngvadottir, Chairperson LCIF Board of Trustees. Special thanks to all the Lions who made this possible, each and everyone of you, ...so that we help to ensure that the humanitarian service of Lions reaches those who need it most. Well done! Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) is the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International and since 1968, LCIF has provided grant funding for local and global humanitarian efforts, and funded entirely by charitable donations from Lions, and our friends and partners. IPDG Jennifer would especially like to thank the Lions Club of Sydney Chinese, who organized an amazing event, with their Silver Jubilee Ball held in Sydney, with proceeds going to LCIF. Sydney Chinese President PDG Dr Anthony Cheung was fortunate to have squeezed this amazing event in early March 2020, just days before lock-down. The members of the Lions Club of Sydney Chinese should all be congratulated on their efforts and very proud of their achievement and look back at the struggles that they faced and how they managed to achieve an amazing result where uncertainty seemed to be the order of the day. Congratulations to Lion Genevieve Jeny of the Lions Club of Manly for taking on so much, through unprecedented times and did a wonderful job in order for the district to contribute a minimum of US$30,000 to Lions Clubs International Foundation, while also achieving an overall increase in contributions of at least 10% over the previous year. Lions Clubs International Foundation provides the life skills that our youth need to grow into healthy and productive adults; it makes certain that individuals living with disability receive the support that they need to thrive; and it brings welcome relief to those whose lives have been devastated by natural disasters, such as the fires that ravaged various districts throughout Australia. Keep in mind an LCIF Standard grant is a matching grant opportunity available to Lions Districts. These Lions-led service projects focus on addressing unmet humanitarian needs in local communities where there is a major construction or equipment need The grant awards range from US$10,000 up to US$100,000. If you want to know more contact District LCIF Chairperson Genevieve Jeny from the Lions Club of Manly for further information by emailing [email protected] See more
