23.01.2022 Important update
19.01.2022 As locals we know just how special our river foreshore beaches are - but did you also know they are hotspots for nurdles? Nurdles are small plastic pellets about the size of a lentil and billions are used each year to make plastic products. Because they look so much like fish eggs - sea birds and fish consume them, meaning they pose a threat to the well being of our river and sea life, and can find their way into our food chain. ... I recently joined the dedicated team at the Sea Shepherd Australia - Marine Debris Campaign (I'm pictured with local legend and tireless marine debris campaigner Marina Hansen) for the Aussie Nurdle Hunt, removing and collating important information to help combat these tiny plastic invaders. To find out how you can help protect our beautiful Swan River, check out their page for information about upcoming beach cleanups. Together we can turn the tide on plastic in our oceans and waterways!
15.01.2022 Heading out yonder this Easter? We’re boosting policing resources over the Easter long weekend, as part of a high-visibility road traffic blitz. Police patrols will target speeding, mobile phone use and dangerous driving offences. Double demerit points will also come into effect from midnight tonight, and will apply until midnight Monday April 5.... Have a safe and happy Easter break in Bicton (& beyond)
12.01.2022 In June last year, I met the Friends of Phil Ward Park! Together, we fought to save this little park in Cottrill St, Myaree from development. Striking the right balance between growth and public open space always requires careful consideration. ... The Friends have some great ideas about how to activate this space for the local community (with ideas like inter-generational nature play equipment). That's why I'm so pleased that as a a re-elected McGowan Government my pre-election commitment of $15,000 to this community initiative will now be delivered!
10.01.2022 90 plus passionate volunteers. 9,000 plus households called. 6,600 plus doors across Bicton knocked on. ... 4 more years of delivering for our amazing communities in Bicton and Freo. 2 words: thank you! From the bottom of our hearts.
10.01.2022 Happy Easter Bicton! From Archie, and my family to yours - stay safe and enjoy the break.
