25.01.2022 On this International Women’s Day here is one from the vault The never before seen interviews from behind-the-scenes during my Women of Influence photographic exhibition for Canon Australia including Gretel Packer, Asher Keddie, Turia Pitt, Deborra-lee Furness, Mia Freedman and many more. Look out for the first interview of the series on my Facebook page this Sunday 10 March.

24.01.2022 These Qantas pilots are the best of the best and until March flew all the international QF big birds. Now they're driving buses, and looking after each other... Don't miss my very emotional interview with these former, and hopefully future fly boys tonight on The Sunday Project.

21.01.2022 This week on The Sunday Project I chat with Junior MasterChef judge Melissa Leong on the racism she's had to deal with, as well as her "work husband" Jock Zonfrillo's vital role in calling it out. She is such a class act!

20.01.2022 Women of Influence: Professor the Honourable Dame Marie Bashir, AD, CVO - ‘The Inspiring Leader’ In March 2001, Dame Marie Bashir was appointed as the first female Governor of New South Wales and went on to become the state’s second longest-serving - and one of its most loved - Governors. Prior to this tenure, Dame Marie’s extensive commitment to medicine and the community saw her dedicate her time to children's services, psychiatry and mental health services as well as indig...enous health programs. Named as both a Companion and Dame of the Order of Australia and a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, the University of Sydney graduate also served as its Chancellor from 20072012. Dame Marie is renowned for her widespread involvement in juvenile justice, research into adolescent depression, health issues in developing countries, education for health professionals, as well as telemedicine and new technologies for health service delivery.

19.01.2022 Women of Influence: Deborra-lee Furness - ‘The Devoted Advocate’ Internationally-acclaimed actress and producer Deborra-lee Furness is just as well known for her charitable advocacy work as she is for her film and television perfomances. Her commitment to improving adoption programs, procedures and legislation, and to raising awareness and understanding of the issues around vulnerable children saw her named NSW Australian of the Year in 2015. Honoured by numerous internation...al organisations, Deborra-lee is the founder of National Adoption Awareness Week in Australia, on the board of Adopt Change Australia, World Wide Orphans Australia, and part of the advisory committee for the Global Poverty Project. Her extraordinary acting credits include receiving Best Actress at the Seattle International Film festival for ‘Shame’ and at the San Sebastian International Film Festival for ‘Waiting’ along with a number of Australian Film Institute accolades. Deborra is also of course the great love of Hugh Jackman’s life and mum to Oscar and Ava.

17.01.2022 Women of Influence: Turia Pitt - 'The Inspiring Survivor' Inspiring should be the middle name of Australian mining engineer, model, motivational speaker and author, Turia Pitt. Despite suffering burns to 65 per cent of her body from a bushfire while competing in an ultramarathon in the Kimberley in 2011 and being told she would never run again, Turia completed her first ironman triathlon in May 2016. The 2014 New South Wales Premier's Award for Women recipient is now an offi...cial ambassador for Interplast, a charity providing free reconstructive surgery to people in developing countries. Despite facing a future with multiple challenges, Turia is optimistic, and above all, wants her story to make a difference her mission is to make skin a more prominent organ in the repertoire of donated organs. The humanitarian published her memoir in 2013 and lives by her mantra: you don't succeed despite challenges; you succeed because of them.

14.01.2022 Like many Australians, I thought I knew Lindy Chamberlain's story back to front, but Channel 10's stunningly revelatory documentary has made me completely rethink this enduring dark stain on Australian judicial history, and the shocking prejudice aimed at an innocent mother who had just lost her nine-week-old baby.

13.01.2022 Women of Influence: Gretel Packer - ‘The Passionate Philanthropist’ Businesswoman, philanthropist and arts patron Gretel Packer is the driving force behind the $200 million charitable fund, the National Philanthropic Fund, which focuses on Indigenous education, community welfare and arts. The Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) is one of six Indigenous education programs selected as a recipient of the fund, and believes mentoring is an opportunity for young people to form friendships and relationships across divides that might not otherwise be crossed. Daughter to the late media icon Kerry Packer, Gretel is also Chair of the Crown Resorts Advisory Board, trustee of the Sydney Theatre Company Foundation, patron of the Taronga Zoo Foundation and a Board member of the Art Gallery of NSW.

13.01.2022 Women of Influence: Cate McGregor - ‘The Brave Trailblazer’ A finalist for 2016 Australian of the Year, senior transgender military officer and champion for diversity, Cate McGregor is a Member of the Order of Australia for "exceptional service to the Australian Army as the Director of the Land Warfare Studies Centre". An advocate for the LGBTI community, Cate is a patron of Kaleidoscope Australia, a non-profit organisation focused on promoting and protecting the rights of LG...BTI people in the Asia-Pacific region. Her moving account of transitioning from Malcolm to Cate in 2012 was told on the ABC’s ‘Australian Story’ and this well-known cricket commentator, author and political columnist’s remarkably brave journey has inspired others to be true to themselves. Cate has since become a leading figure in the transgender community advocating for greater understanding and acceptance.

Both an Australian of the Year and Australian Sportswoman of the Year, Evonne was co-patron of Reconciliation Australia along with Sir William Deane and served on the Board of the Indigenous Land Cor...poration and National Centre of Indigenous Excellence. 02.01.2022 Women of Influence: Asher Keddie - ‘The Compelling Performer’ One of our favourite Australian television performers, actress Asher Keddie is much more than just our ‘Nina’. The ‘Offspring’ star always carries the natural grace and poise that only an ex-ballerina can and is one of the country’s most popular and familiar faces. An Ambassador for the World Animal Protection Organisation, Asher is inspired in her work by the truthfulness and authenticity of the great Meryl Streep..., once telling the Australian Women’s Weekly that she has a fierce need to get to the truth. With multiple Logie awards to her name, Asher first graced our screens at the age of 10 and has since built a critically acclaimed body of work, including portraying publishing doyenne Ita Buttrose in ‘Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo’ and award-winning performances in ‘Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities’ and ‘Love My Way’.
