25.01.2022 UPDATE: Since the shadesails will be repaired under Crown Lands Insurance, we have been required to report the vandalism to the police who will be investigating.... Some local boys were spotted on Wednesday afternoon bouncing on top of the shadesails in our park, causing this damage. One of them was wearing a high school uniform. Any information please call Trish on 4686 1188. It's a shame this has happened; we advocate hard to get funding to improve our little community. Let's look after it!

Funding ...is still available through the Supporting our Neighbours program to help landholders replace bushfire damaged boundary fencing bordering public lands. Grants can be issued retrospectively, so if you have already replaced boundary fences with your public land neighbour, you can still receive funding. 05.01.2022 The country is looking greener, but it can still hold fire. Landholders are taking the opportunity to reduce the fuel loads on their properties during these milder conditions. Please only report fires that are unattended, not just smoke in the vicinity. Planning to burn in the Tenterfield, Inverell or Glen Innes Shires you will need a Fire Permit Contact your local brigade or Fire Control Centre 02 6739 6900
02.01.2022 Plan ahead and be prepared to change routes if you are traveling. The New England and Cunningham Highways between Wallangarra and Ipswich have areas of damage and water over the road. The highways may be closed at places such as at Lyra and Aratula. More details on the Qld Traffic website: https://qldtraffic.qld.gov.au/
