21.01.2022 Todays favourite pictures are from Sheryl, taken by Sheryl - every year on Anzac Day or Australia Day we try to do a photo shoot at one of Lithgows iconic locations. These 3 photos are taken on 2 different Anzac Days. - The first picture is an aerial shot taken (from a cherry picker) at the Lithgow Blast Furnace Park (2015) before the major upgrades. It had poured rain that day and we didnt think we would be able to get any photos, but after lunch the sun came out and thi...s is the result. - The second and third picture is taken at Hassans Walls Lookout (2018) All are fantastic shots - thanks Again Sheryl

07.01.2022 Today we should have been travelling to Springwood for the annual Blue Mountains Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day service, but sadly another event cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The band has been supporting this event for the last 30 years. Many band members have made their debut at this event that begins with a street march and a service at the War Memorial, followed by some entrainment at the venue of the day. ... Later in the afternoon the band performs the Beating of the Retreat ceremony - (an age old custom from the 16th century), played at sunset to warn the soldiers beyond the confines of their camp that the gates were about to close and it was time for them to return. We have met many a dignitary and celebrities at Springwood - General Sir Peter Cosgrove, NSW Governor Marie Bashir, Little Pattie and Lorrae Desmond, both who entertained the troops during the Vietnam War, and Keith Payne VC OAM, and last but but not least the true heroes, the Vietnam Veterans themselves. So in lieu of photos from 2020, I thought I would share some photos from the past 30 years.

04.01.2022 Here are a few favourite pictures from Clan Gambrill-Wilkinson from the past 5 years.

04.01.2022 Who could forget our road trip to Aberdeen in 2010!! Whilst driving to Aberdeen we lost the whole wheel from our trailer on the outskirts of Merriwa, never to be found - we waited hours for the NRMA to turn up to transport the trailer to Merriwa. All the band uniform and instruments and luggage had to be transferred into the bus which was already full of band members so we could continue our journey onto Aberdeen. It was a freezing cold night waiting for NRMA to arrive, but we had a few bevys to warm us up and lots of laughs.

04.01.2022 More photos from Vietnam Veterans Day at Springwood in the 90s

04.01.2022 The band should have been celebrating their 50th annual ball on Friday 11th September, and would have had a busy week decorating and setting up the Civic Ballroom for their night, but that was not to be...... So I thought I would share some pictures from years gone by. Who knows when we will be able to host our next ball, hopefully it will be 2021, but it will still be the Lithgow Highland Pipe Band 50th Annual Ball.
