19.01.2022 Lithgow Halloween Smartphone Film Competition winners announcement. Films were judged in 4 categories: Most Creative, Best Performance, Best Youth Film and `People’s Choice’ award. SF3 ofthe "SmartFone Flick Fest" (Australia’s international smartphone film festival) provided the expert judging of thecategory finalist films. The People’s Choice Award online voting system was open to the public to vote on all of the 13 finalists. Each Film category winner received a winners...’ certificate and a prize of $500. A huge congratulations to this year’s finalists of the Lithgow Halloween Smartphone Film competition! SF3 Judging panel selection and comments for the Lithgow Halloween Smartphone Competition "This year’s entries were the best yet which made for a difficult job choosing the award winners". Best Youth Film ‘Halloween Dreams’ It was hard to go past 'Halloween Dreams' as the winner of Best Youth Film though. Not only was it creative and artistic and beautifully shot, but it was wonderful to see some prominent Lithgow landmarks incorporated into the film. And did we spy footage of last year’s Lithgow Halloween Festival? It’s great to see the next generation of filmmakers coming through and we can’t wait to see what they do next! Best Performance - ‘Maximillian Neuhauser in Smarthome’ ’Smarthome’ was a scary reminder of how controlling our devices can be and a terrifying look at what can happen when they totally take over. Maximillian Neuhauser put in a great performance as he battled it out with his smartphone and is a deserving recipient of the Best Performance award. Most Creative - ‘The Garden’ The winner of the Most Creative Award has gone to ’The Garden’ for its originality and style. It is creepy and kooky and cleverly done in all aspects. It was also shot during the coronavirus lockdown so for a horror film made during what’s been a horror year, we are thrilled to gift this film with a positive epilogue. The People Choice Award goes to ‘The Garden’ with 93 votes coming in. With over 460 entries from around the world Lithgow City Council would like to thank all the film makers that submitted their work and everyone who took part in the voting.

There were fears for the survival of the butterfly, found only in the central tablelands of NSW. It was extremely windy but worth it! This lookout is almost around the corner from where Im staying and its very quiet and often empty. Its just you, the wind, the birds and the sun. .... I was holding on to this picture for a couple of weeks because I felt it didnt fit in with my current feed. Even though I really like it. I find this feed planning situation a bit weird to deal with. There a lot of photographers who pay a lot of attention to it while others dont. At least thats how it appears to me. . A well curated feed is definitely a pleasure to look at and to enjoy. However, it makes me feel like I dont have enough beautiful pictures to keep up with it Im working on improving my eye, style and composition but a looot of mistakes still happen. .
